Continuous Game Challenge
#1
Has anyone ever tried continuously playing a full game?

I'm imaging a group of 12 players, probably coordinating on discord,  playing an uninterrupted game with something like a 10 minute turn time.

The math says this would be an 8 hour session given 40x 10 minute turn intervals plus some scheduled bio breaks.

That sounds a little grueling even for me, so maybe broken up into two days. Scheduling would be hard. Maybe 10 turns in a 2 hour window over 4 days.

You're talking about 10-minute turn time, and I can't seem to generate any interest in a four day turn in our 5864 game.
For a full diplomacy game shouldn't everyone be required to have a useable contact e-mail?

Some people have different usernames in the forum versus the game site which can lead to confusion.

I would also say 10 min turn completion is... ambitious. Maybe in the beginning, but after turn 10 that is unrealistic.

If you figure 30 minute turns for 8 hour days, it would take 3 days to complete (2 and a half, actually). So if the early turns are done fast you might be able to squeeze it to 2. If you pick a three day weekend you could pull it off.

A 24-hour turnaround day in a confederate (players play two kingdoms) or warlord (players play three kingdoms) is probably more realistic. Easier to get 6 or 4 players to agree to fast-as-possible turns than 12.

I was just trying to imagine what an in person game would look like.

We did that once. I was at a gaming convention maybe 30 years ago (maybe longer), and the company was running a live game. You would enter orders at their table, wander around for a bit, then come read your printed out results, enter new orders and walk around the convention center again. I feel like it sort of worked, at least to get the feel of the game.

I'm getting a Cones of Dunshire vibe.
