Question for all you experienced pros out there...what is the best way to go about finding a hidden capital.  A handful of of level 4 agents searching each turn?

Anthony,

First divine all of the pops in the region use level 4 agents and patrols to search each hex. Use a black owl totem if you have one as well. Also you can look for artifacts in that region as pops and arties cannot be in the same hex. You can also move emissary's into empty hexes but that is kinda gamie and I avoid doing that myself.

At times, you can narrow down where the capital might be based on agent activity, emissary movement, or military actions. An example - the enemy used an agent to kidnap an emissary of yours. It is a fair assumption that the best agents are in the capital, thus you can assume the capital had to be within seven squares of where the mission took place. Combine that with known information such as popc centers, artifact locations, and areas you have already looked at, and it may help you narrow the search.

I also use ward to narrow it down. If one of you emissaries/agents are captured Ward him. If he is out of range (10hexes) you will get the message target is out of range. If the ward spell works he is within 10 hexes of your wizard.
