Edict of the Sword Coast
Let every banner hear and tremble.
I am King upon the Broken Throne, Brother to the Demon Princes, Lord of the Pact. I speak with one will and one doom.
The Ultimatum
The Sword Coast is mine. Vacate its ports, sands, reefs, roads, towers, and tides at once. Any host, ship, agent, or whisper that lingers will be bound in irons, branded in soul, and marched into slavery beneath my standard. Leave, or be owned.
Special Warnings
To the bright who pretend at virtue
Amazons, High Elves, Fairy Folk, you are on notice. Recall your champions and unstring your hymns. If you set a single foot upon the Sword Coast again, I will teach your valor to kneel, salt your sacred groves with ash, and bottle your songs to pour back as chains.
To my ancient nemesis
Ancient Ones, your riddles rot. I will unalphabet your true name, crack open your vaults from within, and grind your oracles to silent glass. When I am finished, even memory will not dare remember you.
To those who savor smoke and iron
Tyrant, Lycans, Deathknights, Dark Elves, Lizard Kings, Nomads, I extend a hand, taloned and true. Hunt in the long shadow I cast and be fed, but mistake me once and your crowns become collars. Stand with me, and we will divide the world into portions fit for wolves and kings. Stand against me and learn how deep a pit can be when I keep the shovel.
To the hesitant and the meddlesome
Giants and any who call yourselves “neutral,” keep distance and bargains clean. Interfere, and you are neither wind nor stone but grist for my mills.
Final Seal
No road is too hidden, no wall too thick, no sky too high, no sea too deep. I reach, and I take. This edict is a hook set in the heart of Alamaze. I tug when I please.
Kneel. Turn. Or Burn.
Ulthazar
King upon the Broken Throne
Brother of the Demon Princes, Lord of the Demon Pact
Keeper of the Sword Coast, Warden of Chains
Signed in smoke, sealed in iron, witnessed by fear

To Ulthazar, King upon the Broken Throne, Brother of the Demon Princes, Lord of the Pact
You speak in smoke and iron, Ulthazar, and Alamaze quakes at your thunderous edict. Yet know this: the forests of the Elves have heard darker proclamations in ages past, and still our trees stand, their roots deep as the first dawn.
You brandish threats like a smith wields a hammer, yet what kingdom thrives long upon chains alone? The Sword Coast may echo with your banners, but rivers run to the sea, and no edict has yet commanded the tide.
To place Amazons, Elves, and Faerie Folk upon notice is to summon not weakness, but resolve. If your taloned hand seeks to salt our groves and bottle our songs, it will find itself pierced upon thorns older than your throne.
We have no fear of shadow, for even starlight pierces the abyss.
And yet, I am no fool, nor eager to set fire where words may still hold sway. If you would confine your will to the Sword Coast, and not stretch it like a noose around all Alamaze, then peace may yet be possible. A peace born not of fear, but of respect for bounds and peoples.
Choose wisely, King of Chains. For if you truly tug upon the heart of Alamaze, know that the heart will answer with a strength you cannot bind.

To the Secret Servants of the Ancient Ones
Ulthazar has named you as ancient nemesis, vowing to unmake even memory of your line. His arrogance is a torch held too close to dry parchment — it will consume itself.
The Elves offer no command, only counsel: let not his threats go unanswered. Should the Demon Princes attempt their assault, the Evergreen Dominion will not stand idle. In magic and in resolve, we find common cause.

Surely, the Demon Princes have gotten high on sulfur as I have never even journeyed to their part of the world in all our travels. But I suppose, with such a warm welcome, there is always the opportunity to see what wonders that part of the world has to offer.

To the Lords of Krynn, the Lycans
Children of the moon, we know well how hunger drives the hunt, and how the stars above bind us in their cold light. The Elves would see peace between us, not strife.
If you would reach to me in private, I will share the location of a village within your lands — a place that may help sate needs and temper other desires.
Under moon and star, let us be kindred, not foes.

To the Lords of Zanthia, the Nomads
I have not the flowery words of the Elves. Suffice it to state the obvious - you have found my town in Zanthia. I assume you will take it, and I will not contest you doing so. My forces will be vacating the region this turn. Should you wish to encourage their departure, I cannot prevent such a choice. Know that the dead have long memories and we will not forget the choices you make this day.

To the unfortunate knights of death, please understand that it is approaching the fourth month of the new realm and yet your group still blocks access to the town in my realm. This is not a good plan on your part, trying to keep me from that which is rightfully mine.
In order to take that town, I am required to make your group surrender and retreat. In deference to your request, I will merely attack on a 1, allowing you to withdraw on a 1 with very minimal damage. Next time, be sure to vacate my region sooner.
The ever-merciful Nomads.

By silver lantern-light in the halls of Zamora, Lord Telor sat at a carved oak desk, scrolls spread before him. Couriers waited with falcons and owls restless in their hoods, wings twitching at the hum of enchantments. Into this stillness came a court mage, weary from travel, bearing tidings of a distant land — of a siege where walls shook, where black banners rippled against firelit skies, and where the fields lay salted by ruin.
Telor listened and when the mage had gone, he sighed.
“So it begins again.”
The ancient Elf bent once more to his parchments, reflecting on the words of his twin lost an age ago. "For if Alamaze is not tempered by wisdom, then the ruin of distant realms may one day be its own..."
And thus these missives were written, each sealed in green wax and sent forth on enchanted wings.
A Missive to the Realms of Alamaze
By Lord Telor, Warden of the Elves, High Councillor of Alamaze
Let it be known that the High Council now holds a rare balance: Demon Princes, Dark Elves, Ancient Ones, and Elves — rivals of old, bound together in this forum.
Such symmetry need not lead only to strife. Where equals face each other, there is space for restraint, for compromise, and for decisions that may serve not one, but all.
The Elves will serve with openness and clarity, speaking for fairness and for the preservation of every people against the perils of unchecked power.
Let this moment, if wisdom guides us, become a turning point — where contention is tempered into purpose, and Alamaze finds good even amidst rivalry.
Lord Telor, Warden of the Elves, Voice of the Evergreen Dominion
✦ To Windstar, Sovereign of Mythgar (Lizard Kings)
The Elves seek no quarrel with Mythgar. Let us speak plainly when needed, and keep faith quietly while the world shouts. Our ancient peoples have lived long with no blood running in the wetlands between us. Let us maintain this peaceful boundary.
✦ To Milo007, Lords of Krynn (Lycans)
Children of the Moon, we share the bond of stars and night skies. At Ousha Trail your people came beneath our care, yet I ask only mercy for the Elves who dwell there still. In kind, I will offer harbor to your own caught far from Krynn. Let hunger be sated, and kinship remembered, that we need not be foes.
✦ To Nero, King Ulthazar of the Sword Coast (Demon Princes)
At Challenger Bend your chains faltered, and a village turned away from the Pact. This was no accident. Peace may yet be within your reach — but if you clutch only at conquest, know this: the Evergreen Dominion will not break. Yet we honor hour declarations and do not tread upon the lands of The Sword Coast.
✦ To Ziggy, King Storm Modra of Pellinor (Dark Elves)
We sit across from one another at the Council, as once our forebears glared across the sundering sea. Rivalry endures — but rivalry need not mean ruin. Let us use it to temper Alamaze, not shatter it.
✦ To Frostking, Servants of the Ancient Ones (Diamond Coast)
You sit now in Council as peers to us all. Your riddles may veil your aims, but balance binds us. The Elves will hear your words with honesty, and I ask the same of you. Let us prove that even those far apart in thought can preserve Alamaze from ruin.
✦ To Tacticus, Giants of Darkover
Your strength is carved into trembling earth itself. The Elves seek no quarrel with you. But if the Pact’s chains spread unchecked, they will seek to bind even your high places. Let us remain neighbors who respect each other’s might. I assure you I meant no harm nor gathering of intelligence by sending a patrol so deeply among your kind. I've heard from them that they prepare already to leave, with no intention of causing your kind any disruption or malfeasance.
✦ To Hammer, Amazons of Nyvaria
Your valor is known even in our Evergreen groves. The Elves honor such courage. Should the shadows deepen, let us not stand as strangers, but as peoples who understand duty and sacrifice alike. We should like to hear from your queen about how our good people may one day work together or find common cause.
✦ To Cinkasnor, Tyrant of Gor (Crown Islands)
Your reign is feared from the waves to the streets. The Elves will not provoke you, but nor will we bow. If you reach for more than your islands can hold, you may find your chains snapping in the wind.
✦ To Thudargh, Deathknights of Triumvia
Lords of the Everlasting Night, you are our opposites, yet even rivals can be bound by balance. Strike at us, and you will be opposed; sit in Council, and we may both avoid ruin. The choice is yours.
✦ To Lord Moontree, Faerie Folk of the Untamed Lands
Kin beneath leaf and starlight, the Elves greet you as distant cousins. Let neither of us be drawn into chains or shadows. Preserve your songs, and we shall preserve our groves, and together keep the wild and wondrous free.
