Pillaging PCs
#1
I've had a few instances where villages disappeared after being pillaged and plundered.  I thought it was a special order I knew nothing about until I did it myself to a village.  I had no intention of doing anything more than acquiring the village for food, but now it's gone.  I used T3 to attack and figure that may be the reason, but believe I've used T3 before and it didn't happen.  Haven't been able to find anything in the rules about it but only went to the combat section.  I figured that maybe it was because i had an evil empire, but I've also had the SA do it to me in a different game.  Any answers to this?

You are using order 160 - Plunder Popcenter:

#160 – Plunder Popcenter This is a drastic order which if successful results in your kingdom garnishing booty from the razing of the population center. The population center is, of course, destroyed in the process. You can expect about 150% of the normal production of food and gold from the population center added to your kingdom's available resources. Also expect the population to fight like hell to prevent this occurrence (defense is 175% of normal). Whether the effort is successful or not, word of the act will spread rapidly throughout the region and your kingdom's reaction level in that region will be worsened by one level. As in Order #150, non-allied emissaries may be captured with a successful Plunder.

Order 150 - Attack Popcenter is the one to use to conquer a PC.

I must have hit the wrong order as I had no intention to destroy the PC.  Is there any consequence when a supposedly good kingdom consistently pillages PCs?  Seems like there should be.

The only consequence is the loss of a reaction level in the region.

And the dead villagers. Lest we forget those who gave their lives so Ziggy can have a little more gold this month. RIP.

LOL!!  I've got to admit it actually hit me hard when I saw it happen both to me and by me in different games.  When it happened to me on consecutive turns I had to completely change my plans and track down the army doing it to my villages.  I know it happens in real life, especially in medieval times, but it's a brutal order none the less.
