Hey David,

Nice to hear from you! No, it will never be the same without Phil. And he loved all the friends he made running Alamaze.

Did you see one of the strategy articles posted yet?

I think I used to see you at Costa Mesa when I got out of the army-
I played against you, MTG, and your name was familiar. You took the MTG really serious. One time I'm pretty sure I let you win a match cause of the Alamaze connection... never mentioned the game though, at that timeWink

Hah! Yes I used to play at Costa - Dan Gray's place. Yes I took the game (MTG) much too seriously back then. I am afraid I was an asshole at times. I apologize if I ever was to you.

Eventually I realized it was no longer fun and hadn't been in a while and decided to get out of it. It was about then I think I may have gotten back into Alamaze after a 10+ year hiatus.

Nobody was an asshole to me straight out of the military, at least to my faceWink

I got a lot of amusement watching you guys be super serious, truly. I remembered your name but didn't mention anything. We played in some Alamaze games dating back to the early days-

Do you remember Ali Eslami? He's an asshole. Anyways, he was an awful poker player too and then lo and behold I see him on tv, WPT. He's a "pro" now but I took the guy for so much $$$ I kinda think he has A LOT invested into that game...

I sold all my MTG cards regretfully as they keep on going up up up.
Happy to play Alamaze again though! Hopefully you're still a worthy opponent.

I do remember Ali. Never really cared for him. I spotted him on TV a while back as well. Blew me away to see him!

A number of magic players have made the jump to poker; I suppose it is a logical leap.

I may not enter an Alamaze game here for a while, if at all. The last couple of years I did play I gravitated towards the 6v6, two players games anyhow. Seems a lot of them were against old Frankenhoff too!
