Quick question. Is Column "E" optional if I think that the group is in ambush, or can I leave it blank assuming that the group will move?

re-reading the rulebook again helps.....

Should the artifact be in possession of a group, then Column “E” must be within five (5) areas of the group’s location. TA - DA!!!! Thank u Bluefile2!!!
