The Black Dragon will be able to hire a brigade of Phoenix:
* Only at the Fire of the Void;
* In a group led by a Marshal or better;
* In a group with at least 3 Black Dragon Brigades;
* Once per turn per group. No more than 2 per group total;
* Fight about like Red Dragons.
This is sort of a tease as to what we might do with certain named geography. Normally this would wait until 3rd Cycle.

Huh. I don't know about this. Seems to really hurt the Red- we're saying that the Black could conceivably recruit 10 brigades of Red equivalent ? I would hope each one costs like 50K gold and has a really high monthly maintenance cost. Or limit to 2 brigades recruited the entire game. This seems way too powerful to me.
Yes, it would definitely be something to balance out if perhaps where super powerful recruiting places like this are. That there is no way to detect an ambushing brigade. You want to get something this great? You need to take a huge risk.
But let me also say, totally trust Rick and I know he wants to hear the debate. That's why it's on here. A lot of these ideas are really cool and change the calculus which is what is needed.
Yep, I know. What I'm saying is. Make it so an ambushing group in these types areas can never be detected no matter the agent or leader level.

Good comments. As said, this is the teaser on whether we will advance interesting things in certain named provinces, currently now those "blue named" places on the map.
I think as worded, this advantage for the BL involves not only the risk of being ambushed by the RD (among others), but the requirements to even go there are not easily met, and then what is foregone else-wise to go to that one destination.
I've had some success with this multi-player strategy game design stuff. As I said, after this batch, we are right on to the next scenario where we will have more departures from what we now call "Alamaze Classic". In general, you'll see these last changes to Classic are like the wading pool to the next evolution.
