I'm not quite sure why this has gotten so much attention. Slow news day I suppose. If you have a need for the volcano and have trouble sleeping, just keep saying softly, "NN....NN....NN".
I'm thinking maybe I should start a new game sign up thread as therapy.

Pompeii, LOL!!
So unless this issue was fixed within the last 1.5 weeks, I'm guessing it remains a current issue?
Certainly a game earlier than 167 would still have the Fire of the Void at ON, I imagine, unless the port to the new system has changed that?

Well, someone's got some 'splaining to do!

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

I'm talking about the Fire of the Void artifact destroying unusual encounter. It looks like that's at ON as of 1.5 weeks ago based on hard data.
I'm not disputing that NN is a mountain square, and I'm also not disputing (since I don't know the answer) that BL can recruit a Phoenix brigade at NN. But the original question is where the Fire of the Void is, meaning the artifact destroying unusual encounter.
Does that clarify the issue?

Sorry do not mean to argue just NN stood out to me right away in that game

Well, when in doubt, check the rulebook. That's what I referenced when I wrote the code. According to the latest version of the rulebook (Nov 2014), order #963 clearly states that the Fire of the Void location is at area 'ON'.
But this is in contrast to the Resurgent map graphic so many of us took that to be that area 'ON' was the tunnel entrance leading into the volcano at 'NN' much like what happened in the Lord of the Rings movie to destroy the One Ring.
Now, with the above posts, that's going to change. I'll change the Fire of the Void location to be area 'NN' and 'ON' is just an empty map area. I'll have to make the change for all games including the order checker software to validate order #963 correctly. Recruit Phoenix brigades at area 'NN' as stated on your BL setup.
Since the code previously thought that 'NN' was just a mountain, it allowed a pc to be placed there on turn 0 (sort of like Pompeii). That will change for future games that are started on the new system once I make the correction.
Will get to these changes later this week after the migration effort is done.

Ancient texts, like portions of the rulebook, can often lead you astray. Whole mountain chains ha e risen and fallen again since ink was first laid to parchment on that codex.
