#119 - Steel Game with Twists
#31
I prefer to go as-is - I know my current two games are so rife with mistakes on my part [order-wise, diplomacy-wise, and the like] that I may as well be just starting out. Nonetheless, I learn by doing - and enjoy butting heads with the odd Titan or three that lurk in this list.

Of course, I've just crested the 3-game hump. So I suppose I'm in deep water either way - ack!

I'm good either way.

As a word to the newer players, a lot of the experienced players are more than willing to spend time answering questions, even to players in the same game. If anyone has any questions, I'm happy to help where I can - kdusi13@gmail.com

If GN are still open, I will take them.

They are, that just leaves WA and this game is filled!

OK, seems like the lambs are waiting on the lions. I will make one more appeal to allow anyone (not subject to just two games already started, but to anyone other than a podium winner), to hold off in anticipation of the first Newb game. I think its easier to learn that way where a mistake is not fatal, even though you guys are willing to slug it out with very experienced players. Again, think of chess experience, multiply by 15, and understand some players playing for many years have never won. Just saying. Some don't care about winning, which I respect as well, they just enjoy the contest and the twists.

As further inducement for the experienced players to pull out, I am going to say if you withdraw from this, and sign up for the first experienced game instead, there will be a very special treat that changes game play more than what we did in #117 by a good measure and I guarantee you will like it and you will curse that you were not in the first game of its kind. See thread for First Experienced Game, and if you wish, also decline here.

I'll throw my hat in the ring for 120 and, if that means I have to drop 119, so be it. If I can do both, sweet.... so if someone wants to play the EL and has not signed up (and Ry Vor kicks me out of 119 for signing up for 120), there you go.

In closing, I <3 Alamaze.

I would indeed prefer to see The Deliverer in The First Experienced Game rather than as the High Elves of the Golden Wood in a game with many relatively new players.

Along those lines, as you may see in the kingdoms on the Alamaze website (www.alamaze.co), very good choices for first time players are the Elves, the Dwarves, the Black Dragons, and perhaps after that, the Rangers, Dark Elves, the Trolls and Gnomes. The other positions really require a deeper understanding of the game and can be demanding diplomatically. Of course, the top 2 Kingdoms currently in Valhalla are in that more nuanced group of kingdoms.

Sounds like EL is available! Get it while it's hot!

Harry O, you are over 5000 experience points. Would you consider the first Experienced Game instead of The First Newb game?

That would leave the EL and WA and hopefully more remaining for this game.
