Just thought I would open the dialogue. There will be a new map, likely think Mediterranean-ish with two big island continents and the surrounding regions, revised sea power rules, the elimination of the dragon kingdoms as maybe five dragons and about five giants (think Game of Thrones giants) will become NPC but important characters. Thinking maybe the Brethren as a new kingdom: a collection of undead like vampires and werewolves, but that might be a lot of work.
Anyway, I sometimes avoid this kind of discussion as some people get upset (as I ultimately decide), but you are the players, so let's discuss what you want. Just don't get too attached.
After this, I think we need a simpler game in Kingdoms of Arcania. But right now, we can push the envelope a bit (a bit), for maybe finishing up Alamaze. And just to not raise expectations too much, this is a 2017 project.

I like the ideas you mentioned and will be very happy to see what you come up with.

What are the goals of new scenarios? Are they for just a new game board or are they to to move the Alamaze history along? Is the original map we all played on just a small part of a larger world and these new scenarios are going to flesh out a truly larger universe, or more of a similar game with different terrain like "Settlers of Catan?

It would be cool to have a map extension, like to the west.
I'd love to see all the kingdoms be new for the next scenario. Even if the Dwarves are functionally identical, give them a new name and pretend they are cousins. I wouldn't love seeing the Atlanteans start off in a new Atlantis but I wouldn't mind seeing a new and very similar kingdom. Of course, some kingdoms might translate well. There is no reason that the Demon Princes and Ancient Ones couldn't have a presence in a new land.

Rogal, good questions. But Alamaze would never have a random map, even though my thoughts on designing a board game were really on the tile system: its just a different cat.
No. One new map. It doesn't have to be that huge central ocean, as I think a weak part of what I have done is sea power. So, emphasize your weakness? I think it might be more personal to overcome than I should care about. But western civilization kind of came about from around the Mediterranean and then for Alamaze players, like splitting rulership and influence, its just another element that could kind of be ignored on the Resurgent map that now would have to be addressed.

I would love to see Sea Power amped up and made a more important factor of the game. You started it with Resurgence, but much more can be done.
Lots more can be done with water pcs as well.
I like the direction this is heading, but I can see the challenges.

If Seapower is going to have more power, then I need to have the ability to do multiple things with my fleets in a given turn. I probably need more ships as 12 limits our abilities to move large armies. When you do this, you will need to adjust how orders/influence are impacted by these abilities.
But yes I would like to see the AT and PI have more value from ships. The PI feels like a poor mans UN as it is. Note I am really enjoying the kingdom, but the sea power seems to be wasted. Maybe that is just how the game has played out.

There was a good point made to me, I forget whether personal email or forum post, that the spell lists should be differentiated more, in that should Elves ever Summon Ghouls, for example? I can't argue, it's just when you do something like 3rd Cycle, you are doing 1000 things. Your coder might want to be done in 20 days. There were a few things I would have liked to have gotten in that we didn't. Remember, players as well were saying stop doing your thing and put it out there.
So the next scenario should fix any perceived weaknesses in the design, help clear the way for Kingdoms of Arcania in terms of interface, again increase the fun aspect that I mainly attribute to how different the game can be based on which kingdom you play. I really hope our players / customers understand that - about having fun over possibly always oriented toward winning as the only objective. When you play the Red Dragons, it will feel a lot different than playing The Sorcerer. That's a major objective.

For your list of improvements. If you didn't need to enter in the PC location when you must be located at it, it would be nice. I believe this is more than just Meteor Strike but I honestly don't remember. I know its a bit of a pain to put the location in and there are times when my mouse slips when attempting to click and I have to re-enter it.
Not sure but a quality of life for me. I am guessing UM might feel the same due to game 507.

Here's my 2 cents. How about a ocean with many zones and one land mass. The idea would be more like discovery of the new world or the arrival of the Conquistadors to the new world. Perhaps the new world would have the more exotic races and the invaders would be competing human empires.
