Maybe I will just look for encounters in the country side, but maybe just as your home region gets invaded, someone posts to the Pirates and says "25000 gold a turn, region X cause as much trouble as possible for 3 turns, do you accept, yes or no?" No other bids come up, that could be a lot of agents coming your way or some other fun things.

How about one of my newly aquired villages in Torvale? I am happy to pass one on to you under the original offer- in order to cement our friendship. I would also offer you the location of a Palantir in the mists free of charge. While not much from a capability, it is worth the leader/gold bonuses and status points. In return I would ask for a shield from any other possible bidders who wish to do me harm until turn 25. Might not cost you anything, and you stand to gain maybe 75 k gold between now and then (plus status points).
