Game 174

Lord Alz - Black Dragon Horde

This was a hard game. I set myself up for success but a string of bad luck and to be honest simple order entry mistakes cost me this game. I had 2 regions by turn 8 and a 21 brigade Black Dragon force with Chaos sitting on top of a smaller RD force that had worse leaders and no wizards. I did a brain fart and instead of attacking the 2RD I attacked the 4RD so he was able to defend at 1 and escape. 2 turns later I was able to get him again with a 29 brigade force and my special phoenix but he had re-enforced and now had all his named troops together with better leaders. The battle ended up at 38% loss for BL and 30% loss for RD but he lost his main leader. We had been trading pop centers in 8 for most of the game and I thought if I moved to 3 with my military and held on the south with a pretty big political force while continuing to assassinate his stuff with a active agent corps I could knock him out. Unfortunately I underestimated the SO who invaded 3 a turn after me, I continued to have bad luck loosing a MII and a CII vs a 4 to 1 city actually killing all the leaders, so I had a 30 brigade force with no leaders. I dropped back to consolidate and during this time the SO whittled 3 and RD in 8. I would try and hit the SO in the mouth, I show up on the city in 3 with a 20 brigade force and a 8 brigade force while he has a 13 wight force and a patrol. I misjudged the strength of the SO and also again input the attack order wrong so instead of having my smaller force hit first and then the larger second vs his group the big group entrenches and I lose like 80% morale and 12 brigades. Its getting frustrating, it seems the RA and SO are working together as they smoothly split 3 up and seem not to step on each others toes. I have to change tactics I put 3 groups together with phoenix and start randomly moving between 3 6 8 9 and 10. I cant win but I will be a pain if possible. I continue to murder any RD agents or emmis I find. He has his hand full in 8, I have been attacked by everyone in the game except EL and DA.... sigh. The last 10 turns I basically just try and be a pain. I end up with holdings in every eastern province and a long list of kills, all my main enemies are dead and I still have the shining city of Vanasheen. Its wall are very high! lol. If I would have input correctly on the first big RD fight I would have been able to stay ahead of his military and consolidate in 8 and 10 while flooding the GN but alas instead I am a survivor and wistfully think about what could have been.

You had bad luck with that late game L-13 that I murdered. You moved him to the old Red capital and I had an agent on standing order to recon that pc and I never had a spare order to drop it.

I don't feel as bad about picking on you now that I see you had a master plan to swamp me! Smile
