Our team is still working out the first region we wish to choose. Will post that here as soon as possible.
Then JF and team will post their two choices and so it goes.
And yes, we are expecting peanut gallery contributions....

We have decided we are not starting with region 6.
Other than that I'm not sure what we are doing....

In a bold and scary move, our team has chosen Amberland as our first region.
Now we await the 2 moves of the other team.

If I get the setup selections by TH morning from HH , I should be able to setup on TH.
Again, I would request the captains or others not request gold from the younger players for purposes of facilitating a strategic team plan - at least not for the first ten turns or so. Let's let them get their own kingdom going. Of course trades between kingdoms to weather seasons is ok.
Also a reminder to all - the thing that stops team games from being the most popular format for all players is when a player drops and leaves his teammates in the lurch. We've been better about that lately but let's not see a drop unless it is understood by the other teammates. I'd really like to see the team formats become something of the standard, so will be pulling for this game to be successful and fun for all.
We haven't done a 5v5 before and I am concerned about how easy a 3v1 might be to do, but I will leave it to the captains to discuss any house rules of that sort in this game. This would be an example of why the idea of Causus Belli at some point in 3rd Cycle (as well as the limit to declaring two enemies) would help.

I was thinking about that. It might be pretty easy in this format to gang up and try to eliminate one opponent from the other team. That might be a decent, short-term strategy, but would take a lot of commitment and leave a lot of other things open. And it certainly would not be fun for that one player.
I am okay with forgoing that as an opportunity for the first several turns, but as a team game we have to be careful not to tie our hands too much. To Hawk's point, the difference here is that the 1 person in the 3v1 does have 4 built-in teammates so it is not unfair as the other team has the same chance to do a 3v1 or better. As you know, I am one of the loudest proponents of less that 3v1 attacks, but in a team format, it seems different.
I guess I see this from both sides and am happy to abide by how most people feel about it.
