Post your comments regarding your experiences in the Emporia Primeval game here (our first non-Beta 3rd Cycle game). This game has 4 new players and after looking at their first turn's actions, they're already doing better than I did when I started playing...

A little explanation. Imperial Tark found four interested new players and was going to go the route of a private Primeval with Mentor 2nd Cycle game. Mike made the case that the 3rd Cycle order verification is more intuitive and so easier to learn than 2nd Cycle, so the determination was made to make this a 3rd Cycle Primeval and Mike is tracking closely to see how completely new (not returning) players are doing learning the game with the state-of-the-art tools we now have available. Imperial Tark is mentoring within game as the Halfling, where he can foster trade as well as answer questions.
This game is not considered the first commercial game, and will not count toward Valhalla. Its more of an experiment on how we can boost our retention of brand new players through the admittedly steep Alamaze learning curve.
Thanks to all parties: the new players for stepping up, to Imperial Tark for bringing them together and mentoring, and Uncle Mike for shepherding the new players through the order entry and verification site and quick replies from @support.

oh I love the 3rd cycle order entry and it is certainly easier(as one who started on 3rd cycle before being able to get into a 2nd cycle game. Just interesting that he is playing the stout kingdom in both 505 and 506.

I think a new award should be created for Worst Recon Scouts in the History of Alamaze! On the Halflings first turn in this Primeval, I had all 4 groups issue Forced March orders (710/720) to cover as much ground as possible. And they managed to find 0 PCs among the 4 of them. It does save a lot of gold when your emissaries don't have to be moved anywhere, so there is that! Glad I got this out of my system now.

how many squares did you cover? Only with that can we truly know how bad your search was.
