When the RD was improved. Did the BL receive upgrades as well?

It's been like a year now and I don't remember all the tweaks that we did but I do remember that the BL received additional brigades at turn 0 after the initial rollout of the game. I don't know if that was done at the same time as the RD improvement timeframe or before that during Alpha testing. Hope that helps.

I was thinking of choosing the BL as well for the Championship game because if you win as the BL or HA or another underdog kingdom, no one will ever question your skill level at Alamaze! But that pesky RD selection kind of forced me to choose another. The HA needs time to recruit like mad from pc's and raise wizards to pwr-3 which I've noticed in some completed games that no one is really doing as the HA. Then they could make a stand against the TY or another kingdom and make a name for themselves but that game plan won't work against an early RD invasion.

So I switched to the IL to still make it challenging for me (since Arcania is nearly as vulnerable as Amberland) but having some kind of chance of surviving a RD early attack. Heck, having the RD in the game is already changing my opening game plan as the IL...

To me it would be the PI selection that would keep me away from the BL. Especially with random PCs an amberland having such a high % of water squares. I think of the list posted here never shows just how much region 5 is not preferred. Only partly because it is in the center.

What is the issue with Wall?

As Mike said, we don't have a chronological record of when adjustments are made.  Yes, there was an adjustment for the Black Dragons, as they start with 8 brigades including a Phoenix brigade.  In contrast, the most popular Dark Elves start with six brigades including a Wood Elf brigade.

What is the issue with Wall?

The text states that the wall prevents combat from occurring unless the attacker chooses tac 3 and that they will then incur the damage from crossing it PRIOR to combat. However, in my last game the SA attacked my NO group on a 3 with a wall of flame up - and he incurred no damage because the archery phase occurred and I withdrew prior to the magic phase. So it only causes damage if the attacker attacks on a 3 AND the magic phase occurs prior to retreat. Supposedly the kingdom attacking goes up to this huge wall of flame and blindly shoots over it causing casualties against the retreating force (who assumedly stands there taking casualties and then runs away?) :-)

Updated - Mike has already changed the text to note this. Thanks Mike!

Rick I'm assuming the BL only has 4 groups and not 5 like the RD. and thank you and everyone for the Intel
