DE ruler here. Just captured the RD king, prince, fool, agent-8, fanatic-2, and maiden last turn. The lizard ruler whimpered and begged so much in my dungeons that my demon princes put him out of his misery. Was fun though!
OOC: Hey guys, I have to say, I'm not having that much difficulty with 3 vs 1 against me (now 4 with the RA just joining up). I don't know how I have 3 regions under control when I'm not really trying that much. For example, I haven't denigrated the UN or another in Amberland for a while now so region 5 should be out of my hands. Heck, I even moved all of my emissaries out of there for the Sands so Amberland is wide open (hint, hint).
After the big 1RD group bounced off my dome at Avalon, he headed to the Steppes where my other wizards are casting demonic visions and domes. Good luck in not making any gains there RD.
Personally, I think the biggest mistakes so far are when the UN moved his agents to Amberland's water locations (should have known I was reconning them) and I was able to knock off the UN's highest agent and count with imps. Nearly got his duke and other agents too with little imps.
The second biggest mistake was when the RD moved from Avalon to the Steppes (and became ineffective against my demonic visions and domes). From Avalon, the RD should have intercepted my small division in Amberland instead. Destroying my group would have slowed me down quite a bit actually and would have prevented me from conquering his capital last turn in the Sands.
Now that the DA has moved into the Steppes, didn't anyone tell him about my regional spells? Last turn, I affected his 1st and 3rd group along with the 4th RD. The DA wizards should be high enough by now to either dispel my regional or at least protect his groups from the regional effect. That -20% loss from demonic visions takes a toll:
Say RD has 100,000 strong group, taking -20% each turn does:
1st turn: 100,000 - 20% = 80,000
2nd turn: 80,000 - 20% = 64,000
3rd turn: 64,000 - 20% = 51,200
Just 3 turns, knocks your group down in half so please take demonic visions seriously!
Now that the RA is getting involved for 4 vs 1, I'm letting everyone know that I'll be heading into Arcania either this turn or the next (hint, hint). So if you want to battle my little division, I'll be in region 8. I don't recommend leaving the RA alone against me...
Also, please divine the location of my invisible groups. I shouldn't have hit the RD capital by surprise last turn. His group should have been there to defend his capital...

So big red goes down in this game on turn 15. I wanted to fight him at least once but it never happened. He didn't show up in Arcania to fight me when I advertised my intent there so I went to his locations in the Sands to bring the battle to him. But I must have conquered his last pc and took him out. For those new to the game, that wouldn't happen if you created a sanctuary described here and in the rulebook: http://www.kingdomsofarcania.net/forum/s...1#pid27961
So without the RD around, I just have to deal with his friends in this game: DA, DU, RA, SO, UN

Please tell me if there is a combat order based on group size. I ask this because there were 5 pc battles on the RD T15. 3 DE attacks, 2 RD Attacks. No dome were shown on the RD turn report. Therefore all 3 DE attacks were processed before 1 RD attack was processed. That would be a 60% chance for DE on attack 1, 50% chance for both on attack 2, and 66% chance for RD on attack 3. That results in a 9.9% chance overall for the DE to gain initiave for all 3 attacks. Nice die rolls there UM???? Or was it???

Well, you guys caught me! I changed the program to favor me all the time, every game, every situation. All of you can go to hell because only I matter. Ha ha ha ha...
Seriously, why would I do something like that? We've had several turns of quite a few battles between all of us in this game. As everyone knows, orders at the same level are shuffled so that they execute in random order. So in one turn, all the RD 150's could execute before mine or another's or an even mix. It's entirely random and I have no control over that.
Heck, if I examined the archive, I can show a list of executed orders with some turns having one kingdom being executed before another's as well as an even mix. That happens every turn. Why question it now?
Actually, I don't even have to look at the archive, just my turns of game 5031. For example, look at turn 12. The 2RD and 4RD both attacked my pc's before my 1DE attacked his. Why didn't you say that was a problem. Two out of three battles favoring the RD since his groups attacked first. Heck, the code isn't right for doing that!
Looking at my turn 13 kingdom report, it went as 2DE, 4RD, 3DA, 2DA. Turn 14 went as: 2RD, 1DU, 1RD, 2DU. I can't look at the database for this game because I'm playing in it but that's what was reported on my DE kingdom reports. When you take in consideration all battles from all kingdoms, there isn't an issue at all. No reason to complain about anything except for the 6 vs 1 against me in this game. From my perspective, that's like playing a Titan game when you only have a single kingdom to fight six. Like that's not BS but I let it go.
The real problem here is that Rellgar didn't plan things correctly. Did the RD have a sanctuary? If not, well, that's just bad planning on the part of Rellgar. Don't blame the software. Don't blame others. Just blame the player who didn't think ahead when he was running low on pc's.

I'm not appreciating the innuendo. Good things never come from accusatory posts.
Games are processing a minute after the last player indicates Ready. We have Mike to thank for that and for that matter, Alamaze might not be running at all without all Mike has done.

I am not saying UM cheated here. But, I am saying that his intimate knowledge is an EXPLOIT that others do not have. I do appreciate his GOOD work with the game, but I am also a realist that believes in %'s. And his combat results fall way outside the realm of reality. Take that as an accusaion if you must, and I am sure you will probably delete these posts. But, I will not be joining any game that he is also in. And you can ban me if you like. I pay good $ to play this game, and feel that there is no way to win ANY game that he is in, so why throw good $ away.
He has been accused previously by others, BUT I again state, I have no proof of his wrong doing, other than the Skewed order of combat. A 10% is still a very exploit like!!!

You created the 6 on 1 in this game. You attacked 4 of the 6 first and declared another as an enemy.
Ok so its just bad luck all 3 of your attacks went before either of mine. Thats good to to how the program works, thanks

I have not played any Choosing contests in over 6 months and am actually not very skilled at this new version of the contest; but I do lurk around the Forum on occasion.
I must say that I have played with UM in dozens of contests and can attest that you need not worry about fairness when he is in the contest. I played with Cypher (also an Alamaze programmer) in nearly the same number of games and have no doubt about the fairness of those contests either.
While he might say differently, I don't think beating UM is as difficult as you make it sound. Of course, I rarely waited very long before making an attack (turn 1?) in 2nd Cycle.
Don't lose out on very fun games of Alamaze with this bizarre thought in your mind. There are not enough players to start picking ones you won't play with.
Anyhow, just my 2 cents.

I have played in several games with UM. His style is precise, but his knowledge of the inner workings of the program, the possible placement of pc's is uncanny. Now, I must acknowledge him as one of the best players in the game, I mean he is so cautious, he wards his emmisarries on T2 in a hex with no other emmissaries present. Just precaution, or paranoia. In the same game he shows up on a secondary pc in Torvale on T5. No way to to have reconned for the pc, again preknowledge, or EXPLOIT. He was playing the DU, the Torvale pc was the UN.
Draw your own conclusions. I have and will not be in a game with him again, my loss I guess, or am I avoiding wasting $ on a game I can't possibly win.

I have been reading this thread, and am I understanding that UM wins every game he is in? And if you play long enough could not everyone kinda know where certain things might be? So maybe everyone would have the same advantage if they play long enough? Just curious?
