Frankly, I always used to err on the side of caution and put 'secret' when proposing these sorts of issues. What I discovered is many people would call for 'open' ballot measures and were almost never called out and certainly never seemed to pay any sort of penalty. So now, once I see one person post an 'open' ballot, I do the same. I'm tired of being a sucker.

Another crucial drop that unbalances a game. The Druid/Elf drops while owning 2 regions and 2 high council spots. Yes, it is turn 20, so not considered an "early" drop, but still unbalancing for an event outside of the game.
I really wish folks would ask for a sub from the standby list rather than just drop if they need to leave for some reason while they are still a major part of the game balance.

Ugh. Yes, I totally agree. Somebody would have been quite happy to take over that position, I'm sure.
Why wasn't Uncle Mike advertising it widely as "very playable" and making sure someone took it over? No consistency in drops and standby makes for bad player experience.

More likely the player just did not mention he was dropping. I think most would rather the dropped position gets filled rather than go all human.

I suspect there just was no warning. Certainly, it was a very viable position. Probably even one that even had a chance of victory.
