If it's too difficult to determine who should play in a championship game then how about mimicking the football playoffs? In other words, disregard Valhalla statistics which aren't always fair to everyone (e.g., how many times have you played and thought you should have won but didn't due to the random chance of being attacked by another while you were away conquering a region). The ebbs and flows of a random game but not always fair to everyone or a measurement of their skill level. So how about we have two playoffs games (or three smaller primeval games to avoid duplicate players in the playoffs) where everyone participates then the top 12 finishers in those games play in the final championship game. That way, everyone has a chance at qualifying regardless of the random luck that the Valhalla stats don't reflect in our games.

I'd say thats a great thought uncle Mike, but I for one might not be willing to play additional games just to get into a game I might not even have time for to start with. I think that we must start with the assumption, whether it be true or not, that performance during the year qualifies you. Having said that, I personally may never qualify again for a championship game. I wanted to win some games, so I won a couple, now I play for different reasons and may never win again. But last year, when it counted for the championship, I played some games to win, and I won. If I dont win next year. I would not expect a chance to be in the championship based on some kind of playoff.
Again, just my opinion, but the championship should be about performance, that year, not potential performance.

Well what if we just made a list of top 12, and not assign the kingdom they played or region. Just take the top 12 from the year and start a random snake draft with those players like any other game? If one of the 12 isn’t up for it or is taking a break go down the list to the next until it’s filled? Just a thought.

Can you list the nine who have won? That should start the list.
