Game 5632 Yo La Tengo?
#21
It's turn 7 now and we see that the Giant kingdom has declared the Lycans as enemy. Two powerhouses going at each other. Without Red/Black Dragons in this game, it'll be the Clash of the Titans for sure. Interesting to see what happens... Also, would like to hear what's happening with the Fairy Folk and Rangers both declaring the Deathknights as their enemy. Had enough of the Deathknights deadly plague I suppose...

I wonder if the Deathknights Hell Hounds and Pit Fiends can hold them off...

Well, yes, the filthy Deathknights hung around in my region for months for no good reason other than to spread their filthy plague through our fabulous forests. They must be flogged ferociously by our folx.

Interesting responses from the Fairy Folk and Ranger.

The Fairy Folk have a very large selection of companions they can recruit, and they start in a region that allows them to recruit those companions at half cost.  If Dupont is trying to claim that the plague was a hinderance in any way I would start to question his ability as a player.  My second town started in his region and so did my second group. I simply did not have a reason to move it.

Correction: The DK did send a brigade to the RA home region on turn 1.  His attack was in response to that action.

I am interested in responses from the Free Traders and Elven kingdoms.  After playing the DK for a few turns I am firmly of the belief that the DK special ability is not very impressive.  The FT and EL kingdoms have had many months of plague in their regions and the reduced population could possibly affect their recruiting ability.  I would like to learn if my impressions are inaccurate or if indeed the plague ability is just not impressive.

Addition: RA will the reduced population impact your recruiting capabilities?

The Ranger declared the DeathKnights an enemy and invaded before any damage was done to his region so to claim his attack was retaliation for the Plague is not true.

Stop deceiving.. you intentionally moved a group T1 into my region, you knew the ability of the trait, and you attempt to effect my kingdom and its a fail.  reap what you have sown.... Oh your other activity was noticed as well, oh so innocent one..  Your in a war until I or you are destroyed, maybe the way in which it was intended from the beginning.. Smile

I'm interested in everyone who has played the Deathknights in evaluating them as a legitimate contender for winning the game.

Yes, the ever-lasting plague is something special but it's not the only aspect of the new kingdom. I originally had the plague set at 20% census loss, similar to the wizard spell, but thought that would be too high to be done every turn throughout the entire game.

Even though, the plague is an interesting aspect and makes the kingdom more story-oriented compared to other, I don't want the plague to become the primary focus of the Deathknights kingdom.

So, for those who played the Deathknights, share your opinion on whether the ever-lasting plague at 15% population loss should be increased or decreased for the game. Take the perspective of playing the Deathknights and confronting them as an enemy.

Seems its not impacting anything but recrutement, which I think is good otherwise its to powerful.  As Vball pointed out it could have less impact against mages but since mages tend to level their casters immediately and dont sit and cast summon spells for troops.
It would seem parking them in 2 peoples regions is a tad aggressive and likely to get you attacked by both, but I do like it Smile

PTRILEY, I apologize. Your name difference from the forum to the game turn confused me. I have the same situation. I did indeed enter your region on T1. I confused you and the EL.

LY --> Gi

My large friends lets discuss this invasion do you really want to take us both out of the game so early ? When the early game is our best opportunity to conquer easier prey? My troops cannot hope to match yours but I can promise you they are strong enough to destroy every village and town in both our regions leaving us both out of the game, so lets reach an agreement or I promise not a village or town will stand to feed your gigantic appetites
