New Server Testing
#41
Tried several times again: orders all set and ready to go, but every time i try to save, i get:

ERROR MESSAGES:
WARNING: The Orders File Was Not Successfully Saved On The Server. Please Press The Submit Turn Button Again. If The Problem Persists After Several Attempts, Notify Support

Same here as of Tues May 5 at 7:45am EST regarding saving the orders file on the server.

The problem appears to be that the web service does not have file permissions for the directory that the order online website writes to. So, just assign that parent directory and/or subdirectories permission privileges (perhaps, all access for now). It shouldn't be that hard to correct.

I was lucky I successfully entered my orders yesterday. I read what was happening and tried to load my saved orders to double check and discovered I had no orders saved. Those of you who have hit ready might want to double check your orders. I tried redoing the turn and was no longer able to save. With all the work to fix things maybe my orders got deleted in the process of fixing things. All part of the testing process. Double check to make sure your orders are still there.

Clueless, yes, it's most likely a permissions issue like I mentioned earlier. The files being created are not getting the correct permissions.
More to come. I've pushed the time back, and once we have this figured out, we'll push the game back a full day for Turn 1.

Fixed – Go ahead and work on your orders. I have confirmed it is now working. It was a bunch of little things, but we should be golden now.

If you entered your orders previously, assume they did not work and please do them again.

Again, as always, close the order entry and reopen it. You shouldn't have to, but just do it if you're having issues.
I will push the time back one day.

Please let me know if you are having success, and if you have any issues as well.

I was able to enter my orders, save my orders, and load my orders.  Looking good!

When Talonsix rebuilt the server, he had to make thousands of hard-coded reference changes.

Other updates included implementing SSL certificates(no more blocks or warnings from the browser), upgrading IIS, and migrating the base OS from Windows Server 2012 to our most current operating system.

Even some of the most minor things can cause problems that you can’t see until you try to run the games and even end them. The lag earlier was all due to hard-coded pathing issues. This last issue was an IIS setting that had to be reconfigured to allow the proper MIME type for the order files.

I think we should be off and running now!!

The kingdom report button still doesn't seem to be working. Is it just me?

Ok, it worked. And what's weird is that even though my orders did not save previously, they did load and i did not have to re-enter them this time.
It is still weird to open to a blank orders screen and have to click on a tab and then back to get the game to load.
