Test Game 99
#11
So far we have managed to run just turn 1 with the hope of getting all the turn 2 orders back by this evening. We've been trying a mix of weird orders and normal ones to get a feel for how the game is operating. So far, thee have been no genuine bugs or loop holes, but we have more testing to do.

My Trolls are at Meridion with 8 brigades, facing 2 brigades of Ancient Ones backed up by two Power-3 wizards and a Marshal. I am expecting to test my Troll's fortitude when faced by two Walls of Fire. Another Troll brigade is facing a Giant brigade. If there are any battles, I will share the reports here.

My Witchlord is cast Cold Darkness in the NOrthern Mists, causing Elf and Giant groups to suffer demoralizing chilling darkness. They are teleporting to one of the two unusual sightings I have located thus far.

My Underworld hasn't done much except gather information. They are poorly placed this game. They may be raising the cost of training agents throughout Alamaze in order to reduce competition.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

I am envious. I hope to see some of the battle reports. Good luck with that charge, but I think 2 walls of fire will total your group. Trolls take more damage from magic not less.

You may be right, but better to learn in a test game than the real deal!

I had agents scouting for them. I also had an HP divine a short name and she is divining the location this turn.

Turn 3 has run! I think the testers are all just issuing various orders and making sure what happens is supposed to happen. There have been a few oddities (mainly figuring out what Pegasus changed from the original game design) but nothing to worry about.
Rick and Co are working on modernizing the turn results sheet and also the input orders page. There's also a map where players can mark everything although I prefer to use an old school printed mapWink
Hopefully all goes well and we can play in an actual game soon!

Turn 4 has run! I think the turns are looking better and better. They're truly doing "work" updating the layout and making things more presentable than the 87 constraintsSmile

That sounds great. The old formatting could be confusing at times, especially later when viewing on a computer in different formats. It sounds better and better.

There's also a neat new graphic that will make playing the Sorcerer position more appealing...

Here is a sample result, this for the Black Dragon on Turn 4. Remember, our testers are testing, not playing for victory. Just showing where we have come with the turn output formatting, thanks to David.
