Welcome to the First Citizens of Alamaze!

All Citizens receive a credit.

Citizenship is awarded upon completing the first 12 turns of the first game.

Not completing the first 12 turns of the first game results in Outcast, which is not nearly as good and gets no credits. Outcasts can be redeemed through appeal to the Council of the Imperators.

The next citizenship status award is for completing 3 games with 3 different kingdoms. This will bring 3 credits and further distinction to your name.

Other credits are awarded for finishing first (5), second (3) and third (1).

All players that are active at a game's completion earn a credit. 3 credits can be used for a free setup. 7 credits can be used to enter 1 game above the service level.

There will be more on credits in the coming weeks, including credits for mentoring new players and posting helpful articles on the forum.

Again, congratulations to the First Citizens!

Does the mean playing until turn 12 or holding out to the bitter end?

'Completing a game' means that you are still active in the game when it completes. Dropping after turn 12 may be understandable, but it's not worthy of reward or recognition.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

We have more to do to explain the whole Honor concept, which we hold dear.

Honor exists only among Citizens and higher status: those who understand that dropping a game before turn 12 unbalances a game. Players earn their Honor by respecting their foes who have done well tactically, strategically, diplomatically and logistically to achieve what they have by hanging in and battling at least until after turn 12. They likewise are respected by their foe in a contest that has them persevering in the face of less fortune.

There will be more honor titles. Again, Citizens should aspire to be active at the completion of three games, without losing their Citizenship (dropping before T12 is complete in any game).

Citizenship is not permanent. Citizenship is lost if a Citizen drops before T12 is complete in any 15 player game. They would then need to get through at least completion in T12 of the next game to regain Citizenship - and that may be made subject to an additional appeal, TBD.

Titan games are not subject to honor. Also, a player picking up a standby position is not subject to honor loss if they are eliminated or drop before T12.

In addition, Outcast is not permanent. In fact, there will be a place in our heart for those sinners who are redeemed by appeal to the Imperators and then in the next game regain their Citizenship.

Any Tournament we have will be eligible only for Citizens and above. Any other honorific is subject to the persona having Honor.
