Following up on this question, particularly in light of some private comments I've received, thanks.

Sleep status is cleared at the 305 sequence, prior to new sleeps being put into effect

Still wondering...

Counter-espionage works against assassinations against groups (i.e. wizards and leaders). Guard prevents assassinations against emmies.

Does Counter espionage defend against bribery? (I notice the bribe attempt takes place before the counter-espionage order)

I don't think anything "protects" against bribery other than if the emissary is doing something. I could be wrong, though.

Does a Fanatic do better at Guard/Counter-E than a regular agent?

I believe they do - they get the 10% bonus. Of course, they probably die a bit mroe doing it, too.

Really, it's all I use Fanatics for. The loss rate on regular missions isn't worth the extra chance of success IMO.

I agree on both counts. I use them for CE and for suicide missions where somebody absolutely has to die.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project.
