Renaming Initial Charaters
#1
I recall that Rick said that we can rename our starting characters for a fee of $5. I don't recall the key phrase he asked us to use when emailing.

Is it possible to rename your leaders and wizards along with the traditional characters? I am planning to really get into my next game and this would help make it more fun for me.

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

I don't know if it's possible to change the names of leaders and wizards, but I think either Rick or Grasshopper was channeling their rage regarding ESO turns by naming my ESO wizard in 118 PAINSASS.

I loved reading about his exploits in combat reports.

The all capitals probably brought undue attention to PAINSASS. Next time it will likely be something like Lil Pain 'de Arse.

Players can request name changes to their emissaries for $5 for the set of political emissaries if they put RENAMING after the game number / kingdom / turn in the email title and submit in the body of their email submitting T1 commands showing the current name and what it is to become, like:

Robin Hood > Little John

It is the player's responsibility to not name two emissaries with the same first two letters. Keep to 18 letters or less, spaces are fine.

Leaders & Wizard names can be changed (I want to change these universally at some point) for $5 as well (for all leaders and wizards). These character names are still restricted to 12 letters.

Players can always change the king's name for free - just be sure to write it in the king's name spot on the order entry on Turn 1.

I'm happy we changed the default political emissary names several months ago. No more "Pelican", let alone for 12 kingdoms.

I do wish that we could name our emissaries more than 12 letters when recruiting via order 510, but I realize that this is a small thing and not worth making a fuss over. But if this is ever changed, I'd love to know so I could get more creative with my naming.

Well, I tried to name a king Björn once, but the 'ö' just became a normal 'o'. I guess the font doesn't have that letter. Smile In a perfect world, you'd be able to use weird letters on anything other than the first two ones, but that's a lot more than I expect in the normal course of things.
