I loved Deadwood. Taken off the air too early.
The Wire was quite a unique and wonderful show as well, a really epic series. Both shows had very compelling dialogue, sort of like modern day Urban and Western poetry really. Characters would speak and it would sometimes take a beat to grok their meanings but it always felt rich. Also agree that Battlestar was enthralling but the ending did leave me wanting. Also, thank you for not having any spoilers in this thread. I was worried about that as I was a few episodes behind on GoT but I guess everyone here is savvy enough to avoid that. Cannot wait to find out the Imp's fate tomorrow night. Episode #9, oh yeah! Penultimate. (That battle of Blackwater episode in season 3 was grand. Very fulfilling.)
-This Khal Drogo, it's said he has a hundred thousand men in his horde
SPOILER ALERT FOR PAST SEASONS and EPISODES
Was just talking with a friend at Mi Coccino (a hang out) about the best episodes in the 4 seasons of Game of Thrones: 1. Season 1 - Ned Stark's beheading. No one killed Captain Kirk before. It's just not done, my good fellow. 2. The Red Wedding. Nothing really needs to be explained. As shocking as #1. 3. Battle of Blackwater Bay. Nuf' Said. This could easily be #1 from a visual standpoint, but for the readers, it's about here. 4. The last episode with the Mountain and the Red Viper. Everyone liked the actor's portrayal of Prince Obering. Just for everyone pitching all the other shows: yes, I have seen them all. And Game of Thrones is way above on the values I mean, not about whether you are more interested in street crime in Baltimore, but about production mainly, quality of script, quality of acting, direction, cinematography, special effects. It's not really close. Just opinion? Well, others that are paid to judge such things agree, and objectively, pretty sure no show has ever been more expensive to produce. And it is HBO's higher viewership ever - yes, who cares about the plebes but some of you want objective measures. That was several of them.

NOTE: I edited Ry Vor's posting, above, the one with the spoiler alert in it, to make the actual spoiler text the same color as the forum background color. This way, no one will see the spoiler text inadvertently, since it requires that you highlight the area below what is displayed with your mouse.
I don't know if Ry Vor knew how to do it this way or not. He can always edit it back, if he prefers his original way of doing spoiler text, but if he prefers this way, then he will know how to do it the next time around.

Who ever played the father of the little girl who was burnt and killed by Danny's black, needs a full time acting gig. Holy balls he was good!
