Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

Was Jumpingfist on the winning team? If so, he wasn't listed as a winner on the file that Grasshopper updated. Nor did he get the status points.

Yes, this was a team win and Jumping Fist was on the the team.

It was a strong combination IMO with a nice dynamic of RD, SO, and DA.
Then of course, three good players as well.

I thought we do not get status points for magic games. It is about a team. Is this incorrect?

You get status points for all 12-15 player games including Magic games. We are looking at this one and will fix it and repost.

I don't actually believe that I got any victory points either. I tallied my SP for this game and got a higher number than is reflected on the final turn before any victory points. The higher number could be because the artifact SPs are different than what it shows on the turn, but even then I can account for all my points without factoring in any win bonus.

I tried to reconcile mine to the PDF for status points... Apparently I'm not much of an accountant as I have no idea... but I think it's safe to say that we're not all getting full bang on this one. No big deal I don't think but definitely worth looking at if the players are interested. Now that we have LD's and Frost Lord's great Valhalla tracking, concern over the accuracy is likely going to go up.

I asked Grasshopper to look at this. I would like to see your analysis. It is important that it be correct. Otherwise, this will be a waste of time.

I'll try to take a look at this over the weekend, please send any notes/details you have to support@alamaze.co in the meantime, especially if the points on the final turn look correct/incorrect...

So I felt I, the WA, would give the sorry tale of our doomed team. I was the team captain and thus was responsible in the draft. I got the last pick in the draft for players and thus (mistakenly) thought I would get the first draft slot for positions. The end result was I didn't put a ton of thought into my backup requests, figuring I'd get my first choice. In fact, I drew either third or fourth in the position draft as well and got the TR to build around. I thought I would try to re-create my winning position in the first anonymous warlords game which was EL/TR/WI, but while I did manage to secure the WI, the EL position was taken and the only thing even left in the area was the WA, which I reluctantly accepted. While the WI was in an okay starting spot, the TR tends to have a disadvantage with the AN in the region (and I damn well knew the AN was active as that was my rejected first choice) and the WA is really in a bad way vs the Giant. Diving up the positions, I let Bash Grimtooth pick first as he was the least experienced player and he wanted the TR. Usurper got the WI and I took the WA (which I considered to be the hardest to play under the circumstances). I put all my eggs in one basket and went balls-out for Avalon. Got there with a 4 brigade group. Unfortunately, the AN also showed up, albeit with a 2 brigade group but with 2 power 3s. All I could do was gamble – I attacked on a 2, figuring there would be a wall of fire and not a kill wizard (as even with a kill wizard, my bigger group would win and make them retreat and hoping that my 171 order would come after his and take the city.
But here is where I made an input error that affected my game more than any other game I have made in Alamaze. I put order 150 in and not 110 – so even though I entered 2AN in column B, I attacked the high walls of Avalon itself. End result, all of my troops were wiped out, the AN got the city and I lost an adept in the attack to boot. A total disaster.
I really never recovered from this – the WA needs gold to turn into something useful. The WI did okay – he got his region, but his gold was going to his wizards. The TR fought for Torvale for a while before we decided he would do better in Oakendell. Bash put up a good fight, but he made a few rookie mistakes, suck as accidentally abandoning a siege of Lorethane.
I have to say I don't think I was really a great team captain – I was a bit distracted at the time and we were not as coordinated as you need to be to win such a game. Bash and I were probably a better fit, but our positions were very much behind the 8 ball the whole game. I do what I always do in such a case – survive and scrape out whatever existence I can. Lacking a town in the Sea of Forboding, I made my capital a village and built up the walls and gold production. It game me enough to do a little bit with. I had lots of assassins coming my way – mostly from the EL. Then the DA team showed up, blowing up numerous villages in Amberland as they stormed across. I really didn't seek to influence the game one way or the other. I fought the EL and the DA whenever it suited me to poach a pop center for a few turns. As always, I had fun. I do like playing from behind. I was sorry that we didn't do better as a team, but there is always a next game!
