#167 - New Player Primeval with Mentor

Well now,

Four turns in the books. This one went well. I suppose having a better understanding of how to take PC's and to actually call them PC's is a large step forward in my grasp of the game.

Good job on the Elves for grabbing their kingdom. The shortest of the races are a bit slower.

I held off moving on that easy encounter this turn, I am gonna look at the numbers for a larger group with two leaders and an extra wizard and see where that puts me.

I do not know if I can get the region this turn, but by turn six I should certainly have it.

How'd things go for the rest of you?

Does the map wrap or is the world flat?

One land mass which does not wrap.

Well for me it was a quiet turn.   I burned a lot of orders but didn't really do much.  just reorganization and training. All my adepts made it through the rite of magic so that was good news.  The Dwarves killed my issue before the high council so that was bad news.   Not sure what's up with that Tongue  and I got a visit from high ranking emissary of the Warlock at one of my PCs.

Don't trust the dwarves... they are bearded...

I'd worry about Warlocks too... although... you are big teethy dragons...

Trust gnomes. Don't eat gnomes.

I do believe I made it rather clear which direction I would be going for a second region.  If you choose to expand in the same direction and make no effort to contact the WA that will likely cause trouble.  As it would in any game.   I am not looking to fight anyone but also will not let you get three region without one.

I would suggest you open up talks.  And I was just as surprised to find the BL has already moved into this reagion.

Heh...it was a quiet turn for me, too. But not particularly successful. Moved some groups around, learned that I really need to improve my standing in a region before trying to usurp a city with a low level emissary, lost my second to incarceration, and didn't gain much. The only "success" I had was the high council nay. Angel

Here's a question, though:

Are emissaries incarcerated by the human cities lost forever, or can they be regained by paying a ransom or by eventually usurping the city?

You need to capture the city somehow (or if another player captures it, that player will receive your prisoners in his own dungeon).

You can also issue escape orders (385), and increase your chances of escape by paying 6K or 12K gold. One emissary can issue as many of these orders as you want per turn.

You can also rescue the prisoner. But likely you agent will not be high enough for that yet. Best way is to take control of the city.

A note to others you can also "rescue the prisoner" and he would go to your prison for safe keeping. Just something to remember sometime later.

Revisiting the easy encounter. So... group with 111 morale. Captain II and a captain. Two L1 wizards...

43 points?

Good enough? Or should I try a bit more power in a few turns?
