#167 - New Player Primeval with Mentor
Well... Turn went really well. Nothing failed. I finally took control of my region and have started on my second one.

So... Also a new thing appeared on my report. Status points. Are those like a score? If the game goes 24 turns is that how the winner is decided?

Valhalla is based on those status points of single player games of steal and magic.   The rules has a mostly accurate breakdown of the status point.  Basically every 6 turns you get 1/4 of what your current point are for you kingdom.  When the game ends the winning is the one to claim REX (control 4 regions)or SVC (secret victory condition). Here we only have REX.   If none win that way then it goes to the player with the most status points (Lions share) at the end of the game.  Here that is turn 24 but also this game has one catch if the game goes to turn 24 the WA wins.  Actually the only way I can even win this game.  I would much rather one of you win before that.

Ah... long time... but here is the encounter question again.

Easy level...

Gen I, Cap I, wiz 4. Casting protect, wiz 1, morale 117

55 points. good enough right? Also does it matter that it is a group with 1 brig of vets and 1 brig of mo sters?

What the group is made up of does not matter, only few men will go into to explore the encounter.   It does help to have the group with troops only because it allows you to have your moral higher than 100. 

how goes everyone getting their second regions?  I see allies forming.   does this mean battles will start soon?

I think I sunk my chances for making my ESO, I've got to have a warlord for one point.  My best chance to reach that was a general II who died during my second battle.

Yeah that is a rough one.  Warlords are a real rarity now.   Of the kingdoms in this game the EL is the only one that may see a warlords before the end.   EL gets a 25% bonus for leaders not to die.  For me no chance as I am not fighting and not exploring unusual sitings so not going up.   

Great you learned that in this game rather than another though.

Well when I chose it, I was using the turn 0 set up as a guide.  It says that Our leaders and wizards are 10% less likely to be killed in combat than are those of many other kingdoms.  So I thought the chance of making warlord was doable and it's only is worth 1 point.  Your right, good to learn it in this game I suppose.
