Would a compromise to duponts point be to make it a Monday / Friday each week so still accelerated but allowing for diplo?

I was just going with what Rick put out. 3x a week as accelerated. Adding 1 day every other week doesn't really sound much like an experiment

I'm telling you, I really believe it's because the game is full diplomacy.
If someone puts up a 3/week anonymous game, I bet that would fill very quickly.
