I have taken a stab at collecting some overall Steel game points and 2018 Steel game points and looked at podium finishes in 2018 and then came up with the following list in what I think is the draft order. I know the numbers are not exact, but are pretty close. I may have missed an active player, but certainly grabbed all with decent points. And you can disagree with a placement or two, but I think this is directionally sound. I think it needs to be a mix of overall points in Steel and 2018 points in Steel and a rough look at podium finishes. You will notice a very high correlation of overall points to 2018 points anyway. As for picking kingdoms, I like how we started. The top 10 should pick any kingdom they feel they have a claim to. Points or podium finishes in a kingdom should help drive that.
Overall Steel points 2018 Steel points 2018 Podium finishes
1 Imperial Tark 572,000 132,000 1 - DA, 1 - DU, 1 - IL, 2 - DU, 2 - CI
2 DuPont 417,000 219,000 1 - WA, 2 - UN, 3 - SO, 3 - UN
3 Draugr 407,000 147,000 1 - AN, 1 - NE, 1 - GN, 2 - IL, 2 - GN, 3 - UN (incl. JF and JD for overall only)
4 Vball Michael 398,000 138,000 1 - SO, 1 - IL, 3 - DU
5 Canticar 315,000 122,000 1 - NE, 3 - DU, 3 - DA
6 Rellgar 249,000 143,000 1 - AN, 1 - SO, 2 - IL, 3 - IL
7 Acererak 172,000 115,000 1 - DE, 2 - EL, 2 - TY, 2 - GN, 2 - PI
8 Son of Conan 172,000 47,000 1 - NO, 3 - SO
9 Drogo 154,000 60,000 2 - WA, 2 - DA
10 Calidor 87,000 78,000 3 - DU, 3- SO
11 Eregnon the Black 61,000 61,000 3 - DA
12 Strongwill 67,000 29,000 3 - RD
13 Gray Mouser 30,000 30,000
14 Tomag 146,000 4,445
15 Lojjin 115,000 1,386
16 Diamond Cutter 16,000 0
I'm a bit confused by this list. I only finished 2 steel games in 2018 but I did have 32,000 points. Not enough for the list?

Don't worry about it Wookie. As I was trying to figure out what kingdoms I qualify for, I was already eliminated from my first choices. Your welcome to any of my remaining choices. I give them to you.

Sorry Wookie. I was trying to figure out everyone still active. I missed you. That would put you around rank 12 or 13. You can follow the normal process that Draugr laid out. But no, you can't have Rellgar's picks, sorry.

Just to say I think this will work out, as it has in previous editions. So I don't think I need to rule or anything, you guys are doing fine as the players determining how the Players Championship should work. Good ideas.

I think we should go down 20 spots at least for who could potentially be in the Championship. Some higher ranked are not active right now, like Tomag.

How about we make it every 3 turns forum diplomacy? That was great and would be good pr for the game.

Silent, as posted. Unfortunately, diplomacy leads to teaming and hurt feelings.

Sure, that’s fine. I just have felt that as Rick has stated numerous times- the game is designed for diplomacy. I found the 3 turn forum diplomacy to be a good compromise where it doesn’t take too much time- but allowed for some extra strategy. Silent basically comes down to who invades their neighbor most effectively first. There are pluses and minuses to both.
