The thing is, you will still have an ally most likely - at least in the early going - and now you are trying to co-ordinate three kingdoms with your allies' three kingdoms. I rather the Titan format where I don't have to worry about coordinating with anybody. But you know a Warlords format that I would love to try?
Anonymous - each player sends in their list of kingdoms, so you don't even know what the teams are. Obviously no ally decelerations unless the players choose to make them (and you could even declare an ally who was not one of your kingdoms to confuse people). Four players bashing about the map with no idea who they are fighting - what a delightful idea. Makes me think of the last lines of Mathew Arnold's poem Dover Beach.
If I were going to play a Warlords game, this is the format I would want. Anonymous with no diplomacy or communication with other teams. This might be the only thing that would get me to upgrade to Commander.

I haven't tried a Warlord game because I've not had 2 open game points. And the diplomacy coordination...yeah. Ugly. People just don't have time to do massive data dumps to each other even via email. I might try an anonymous game, but don't know when I'd have 2 slots open. Plus - gotta be able to grab a spot in the frist 3rd Cycle game when that comes around

I wouldn't leave a slot open for that. There is no telling when it will happen.

Not leaving a slot open per se, but not going to bump up to Victor service level until then (can only justify spending so much a month on my addictions )
