Raisthanatosfistandantilus looked down from his perch atop Mount Titus. After his cousin had led the red dragons to capture both Jukanta and Gundibar while in their Great Forms, the Desert King formally declared the treaty known as the Withdrawal of Dragons to have been breached. He sent missives to all the rulers expressing his dismay at the actions of the Scarlet Wyrm as well as his promise that the rest of dragonkind would seek to achieve peace throughout all of Alamaze. The Desert King realized there would likely be many years of war before peace would again reign.
"Raist, look there!" Scythia pointed with her Battle Lance from her platform behind the mighty dragon's moutainous shoulder to what appeared to be a flock of birds winging through the clouds with their attention fixed upon the ground. The fierce dragon saw the flock of wyverns striking in full flight headlong towards the still oblivious herd of wild horses grazing upon the far distant plain. The ebony dragon struck the air once with his massive wings and plunged at full speed down upon the unsuspecting alpha wyvern. Scythia gripped her great lance, gritted her teeth, and thanked all the many gods that the tripled-layered, dragon-hide harness held her in place. In mere moments the wyvern was clenched tight in the glistening dragon's claw as the Desert King spread his wings and came to a bone-jarring halt in mid-air. The flock of wyverns scattered in awe and consternation at the presence of the mightest creature to exist in Alamaze. Dragons were never trifled with!!!
"You and your flock shall now serve me," roared the Desert King. "You may serve as respected soldiers or as food to fuel my nation as my brothers again assume their Great Forms. Choose!"
The Lord of the Wyverns lowered his head and sent forth a summons to his flock to return to his side. "Great One, we are pleased to follow your lead. We shall hunt at your direction as our ancestors have always done. Welcome back Mighty King!"
The Desert King released the alpha wyvern - Khayon - and trumpeted his greeting to the flock of wyverns. "Welcome fellow raptors. Follow me. The gnomes have volunteered to be food for dragons. It is time to feast!" Scythia growled a fierce challenge into the biting wind as her friend and king led the entire flock of wyverns west towards Runnimede and what she was certain would be interesting times.
Near the border of Runnimede another black dragon soared up to meet the Desert King. The black scales glistened in the light of the full moon and the mighty wings displayed a deep, hypnotically beautiful gossamer strength. The joy the creature expressed in every controlled movement of her sleek body was apparent to anyone with the fortitude to ignore the waves of inherent fear that existed in the most primitive corners of a sentient mind. The dragon trumpeted a greeting to the Desert King as it banked and simultaneously gained height so that it was flying alongside Raist beneath the vast expanse of his left wing. "Arcura, it is always a pleasure to see you my lovely friend," roared the king.
"MiLord, I bring news. Master Yoda of the Underworld proclaims his intention to maintain the alliance he has bargained with you. The Lord of the Endless Host and Lady Steelhawk remain steadfast in their sworn word as well. The Lord of the Eternal Eye has received both months worth of our promised gold and wishes us well in our gnome hunt. There is now a new Grand Magus and . . . she . . . awaits word from you Great King. Even the obsequious dwarfs have sent messages seeking peace. What proclamations should I deliver, MiLord?"

Sincere Greetings to Yoda, Master of the Mysterious,
My heart leaps to hear proof of the strength of our bond and the unyielding nature of your promises to my fledgling kingdom. Thank you with all my heart! I now know of the location of what I believe was the starting capital of the gnomes. If you are also aware of that location I can give you directions to your promised town in the Southern Sands. Of course, I can simply give you its location if you prefer as no sane king is likely to seek to control a town promised to you. Just tell me which you prefer? Of course, my gift of 3,000 gold each turn shall continue, as I promised.
Congratulations on your new citadel in Avalon. May your reign be long and interesting, my friend!

Best Wishes to Lady Steelhawk, Snow Queen of the Rangers,
I thank you for the warning of the impending arrival of the Scarlet Wyrm. This appears to be an opportune moment to expand your holdings into the Eastern Steppes, as was your initial hope for your noble people. I also congratulate you for your control of Synisvania, as was your destined right. With your permission I will cease sending the production to you from the town you relinquished to me. But those resources will definitely be put to use in opposing the Scarlet Wyrm. And, of course, if I can directly assist you in the future you can rely upon my unflinching support.

My friend of many ages, greetings to you,
As you are by now aware I have sent the promised gold to you for the entire winter in a single shipment. I hope you found the purity of my southern gold sufficient for your magical endeavors? Thank you also for your attempt to quiet the gnomes. As we both understand, gnomes and dwarfs spring from the same primordial stew that is both long-winded and short-statured. Nevertheless, I appreciate the effort.

Salutations my demonic friend,
I greatly appreciate your promise of future aid should three kingdoms seek to coordinate against my single kingdom. It appears that the GN and RD will be working against me without the aid of the UN so I am hopeful that such a degenerate state of affairs shall not come to fruition. I shall, of course, continue to rely upon the bargain of peace struck between our kingdoms and wish you continued success in your endeavors.

Welcome to Alamaze Grand Magus,
I see no reason that our two kingdoms cannot maintain peaceful relations, if you desire the same. I am certain you have learned of the genocide of the dark elves at the hands of my bellicose cousin, the Scarlet Wyrm? Also, while I cannot prove my sly cousin had any direct hand in deceiving the giants into departing Alamaze we are all aware that red wyrms sought to appease the giants by giving them holdings in a land that the red wyrm has no ancestral claim upon. I seek only to caution you so that you will have all necessary information before you make your regal decisions. The dwarfs have been tricked into departing great Hammerhold so that the Scarlet Wyrm can establish his rule therein. With three cities in his possession, the Scarlet Wyrm seeks the eradication of not only the peace loving dark elves - be careful Grand Magus!
Is there some period of time wherein you would agree to formal peace between our peoples? The end of the 24th month, the 18th month, or forever - as you please?

To The King Under the Mountain [except for Hammerhold] via his Chief Diplomat, Grundun - greetings dwarf,
I agree that our two kingdoms need not be at war - no matter the depth of my disgust for your abandonment of Hammerhold. Unfortunately, I have pledged my assistance to the stalwart Snow Queen of the Rangers and cannot sit idly by were you to invade Synisvania. Yet, we are both aware that your Master - the Scarlet Wyrm - is most likely on his way to my region even now. So any aid I can provide to the RA is likely to be hampered by my bellicose cousin.
Might I suggest an alternative?
You previously suggested to the UN that you would be willing to enter Runnimede to capture Cradia and, thereafter, return the city to the UN. Would you be willing to immediately enter Runnimede to capture and maintain control of Cradia? In return, I would expect that you not take any other possessions in the region and that you not consider it an act of war between us were I to enter the Talking Mountains to capture Hammerhold. Finally, should we each find ourselves in possession of both Cradia and Hammerhold you would agree that at such time we would exchange control of those two mighty mountain fortresses. Interested?

Dragon food, prepare yourself!
Once you have agreed to become food for dragons you do not get to decide which dragons accept such an offer. . . [OOC: you have done nothing wrong this contest at all. Seeking assistance is certainly expected. My commentary regarding those willing to coordinate three against one was directed at others - not at you. But should you ever find yourself coordinating with two other players against a single opponent please consider how frustrated the single player must be. If you can consider such a point of view you will be respected greater than many others who cannot seem to understand such frustration. Good luck to you - there is nothing personal in my desires for expansion. Furthermore, there is no guarantee that I will be successful. The RD has played this game much longer than I have and if you coordinate with him you are definitely in a stronger position than if you don't.]
Your stubby legs make it difficult for you to run. Hiding does not equal ruling!
Maybe you wish to agree that I can keep the two villages I now possess, you will cede Cradia to me [just as the DW ceded Hammerhold to the Scarlet Wyrm] and, finally, you will agree to game-long peace with me (i.e. no coordinating with the RD against me - including supplying food, gold, information, or even generally good wishes to the RD)? Do not take too long to consider as this offer is retracted the moment the DW accepts my offer to come and take Cradia (or the next orders are processed)!
Khayon, alpha wyvern, was content as he lifted his head to smoothly swallow down the length of his long, agile neck the half-chewed remains of a gnome warrior/farmer/urchin/whatever . . . Across both the plains and the mountains wyverns lounged in the sun as they digested the contents of their over-full stomachs. The flock of wyverns would never forget the generosity of their king in providing such a bounty. The Desert King was truly a worthy lord and the wyvern flock now followed him out of love and respect - not merely fear. Scythia approached. "Khayon," she commanded. "Come with me Lord of the Wyverns. More of your kind have been spotted in the southern mountain ranges and the Desert King desires that we expand our military forces. You and I - and my Battle Lance - are to round up your brethern and bring them to Raist to pledge their loyalty."
"Of course, Dragon Knight! I shall follow your lead and the commands of the mighty Desert King!" Khayon trumpeted to his flock and shouted orders that he was certain would be heeded. Then he bent his wing towards the ground and waited for Scythia to secure her platform and tighten her harness. The Dragon Knight - herself the sole remaining giant in Alamaze - astride the massive wyvern and tightly gripping the 36 feet long Battle Lance was a fearsome sight. Even a dragon would have to consider the lethal damage a giant wielding the magical weapon could inflict. After all, the next red dragon to be slain by that ancient lance would be nowhere near the first . . .
