Strategies for uncovering hidden capitals
#31
For example, I want to play a caster kingdom.  Would an experienced player know where to look for the ring of spells and the ring of power/key?

You could check but I don't know how to find them. You can use a HP to help narrow your search but I have seen both rings in vastly different regions.

I haven't found either to be very predictable. Not even down to the region.

I have found Vicco and Occiv, the two-adept excellent unusual sighting, in R2 almost every game that I start in R2. I think I might've found them in R4 way way back in the first Primeval game that I played

Odd I have never found them in R2, but have found them in R8 and R5

Other than artifacts being like PCs and almost always not touching another I have found no hidden patterns to artifacts. And I did look Smile. Using a version of the banana parcer I pulled all found artifacts and looked if there were repeat siting and such.

They are often at L's to one another (think how a knight moves in chess). And once you have the location of a couple you can triangulate your searches pretty effectively.
