10 Player Hidden Capital Game
It is an interesting question but if you are woe is me-ing- the PC only had a defence of 79k, and my unit had mammoths and hill giants and forged weapons. As well, the squirrels of Darkover have risen against your oppressive hardtack and grog diet regime. Your time is limited, scurvy dog.

No, not a woe-is-me post, but a wondering just how powerful an Iron Golem with high-level wizards is. Similar to how Brek took a legendary with 5 trolls and a golem.

sorry friends I lost internet while getting the house remodeled so I have been barely paying attention and just barely got the last bare bones turn in.

DU- Forgotten King of Forgetting Turns-

Well fought, this cycle is closing. Turning into a mass slap fight. IL might get it over the goal line- but maybe not.

I had two attempts to win and was foiled by faulty intelligence both times... Thank you Captain Obvious.

Great idea for the game. Wizards are still overpowered with revelation. This was a lot of fun and lets see if I get a third attempt.

DU- Friend to all, enemy to Pirates and Illusionists.

As to playing the PI in this game:

*Thanks to the tier benefits we agreed upon, the kingdom felt much better in the early to mid-game
*But even with those, the wizard kingdoms were able to develop more quickly than others; I'm the only non-wizard kingdom left standing!
*Really struggled to get a p-8 for that teleport army group
*No access to Revelation; hidden capitals stay hidden for me
*I did locate the FF and DE capitals through good ole detective work, but I didn't have any means to locate others (and least not until the DU dropped his right in front of me!)
*It seems the game incentivizes players to stack everything at the capital, perhaps too much, especially when the capital is hidden.

Are Hidden Capitals good for the game or not? It's a good question to ask. Things are different when everyone's capital begins as hidden. There are means to locate one (beyond blindly moving to empty squares), but those are much less likely to work as the game goes on.

Is Revelation good for the game? I lean more and more toward the answer being no. Should there be alternative ways to locate a hidden capital? Almost certainly.

I agree no. If not a ban for everyone, everyone should be able to access it (maybe that High Priestess thing). I also used to think you could only use it once, rather than once per kingdom.

But overall its way too overpowered, and like the Pit Fiend, only available to some kingdoms.

I only moved there as a last ditch victory attempt after I confirmed it had secret passages.

GG you deck swabber.

I found the Amazon capital early by detective work.  I could have dropped on PI or DU capital anytime last 10 turns.  I waited to rev.  I was conservative just enjoying playing with people a lot better than me.  Last few turns I might be a bit more agressive.  As usual Dave is a good player no matter what he plays.

Looks like the Druid has this sewn up, assuming no one else can beat him on status points!
Interesting game, agree on the comments re: revelation for sure.

We'll see about that. It looks like the humble Illusionist and the salty Pirate will both be making last turn victory attempts.
