OK, I’ve confirmed that I was able to change the code — which may not sound like much, but it’s got me excited! What I noticed is that while I could change the value, the message was still being delivered with the old text. That means I’ll need to make a few more changes.
I do think 30k seems like a lot, especially with my additional changes to the food/gold/defense base values (using the 1.2 modifier again). More to come, I’m going to let things ride for a bit and see how it goes.

I am playing the Lycans. I took a town w military last turn but did not receive a bonus Lycans brigade. Setup says I should.
It was a human town if that matters. If it is a percentage I get it, but setup does not state that.

I have a concern. I looked at the military stats sheet, and for at least 24 kingdoms, they had absent for defense. I hope that that is just an error, and not the case.

Also, Brekk is cheating in game 1000. His Elven got tight control of Triumvia on Turn 3.

HAHA I was sorta surprised by that as well, lucky in that they were in areas you always look

Look at the kingdom Excel sheet I posted, I haven't found where those updates.

Try again. Nothing seemed to be wrong, but I rebooted it. Let me know if that fixed it for you.

One more thing. As the DE, I was given tier 2 status for magic, but it was only called advantaged. No big deal, though.

Below is the wording for the Lycans. I believe the 33% mentioned also applies to towns and cities, but the most you can get is 1 for a town and 2 for a city. However, it’s not worded very clearly. Send me an email and I’ll confirm if I can.

"The military forces of the Lycans grow as they infect others during combat. After a battle, opposing forces on the battlefield are infected with lycanthrope and join the Lycan military as new kingdom-named brigades. One kingdom-named brigade is gained after conquering a town, two for cities. Against opposing forces in group vs. group combat, a number of new kingdom brigades will be gained depending upon the results of the battle at a 33% conversion rate (maximum of three new brigades per battle). Keep in mind that some troop losses in battle occur during the retreat stage and may not be considered for lycanthrope conversion. At least one Lycan kingdom-named brigade must exist in the group in order to spread lycanthrope. Only the Lycan kingdom has this special ability of growing their forces during battles and gain valuable kingdom-named brigades. [Important to note is that the additional brigades gained during battle will consume food/gold later in the turn, so plan accordingly"
