Game 5005 - Forum communication
#1
Hello all and welcome to Game 5005. Thanks to Thunderbolt for getting it going, and thanks to UM for automating the sign-up and creation process.

As this is a forum-only communication primeval game, I will start the chatter.

I am playing the Elves and am looking forward to a great contest against the Tyrants, Pirates, Black Dragons and Demon Princes. Pagan game, so there is a decent chance the game will end by Lion's Share on turn 24.

As there are five kingdoms and 10 regions (and by design no wizards or Red Dragon), I propose we start this game in a civil manner with each of us moving on two regions before hostilities begin. In fact, I would agree, if others are willing, that I will take Oakendell and Northern Mists and will not interfere with any other kingdom or their pop centers until after I have my two regions (or until someone attacks me or my pop centers). Any final agreements on regions will likely have to wait until the Tyrants and Pirates weigh in, as we aren't sure exactly where they start.

As for the High Council, we will all get on that committee, so again I propose we do so in a civilized manner. Each player gets to name the Council issue on the turn they get on Council and then repeat in order. Others will vote with the issue (or abstain for same effect) as long as the proposed issue is not directed against another kingdom. Of course the order you get on will depend on how much you want to spend to join early Smile.

The above are not game rules, merely my suggestions for a development period and a beginning mode of diplomacy. Please let me know if you are on board with the proposals and, if so, which 2 regions you favor.

Thank you VBM. It is an honor to vie with you for supremacy over this Alamaze world. I hope to be of some resistance or even a speed bump to your reputation of dominance. I am the Pirates, first time playing this kingdom arrr. It appears my kingdom is setup to begin in Torvale. The Black Dragon starts in Amberland so i would like to seek Arcania as my 2nd choice based upon my setup. Hopefully this does not create a complication.

I have PC's in 4 regions and ask that they remain as part of the PI sovereign territory. In return i can reciprocate with an equivalent PC.

I also would like to see peace between us all for 10 turns, meaning no military or emissary hostility in our claimed regions. If you do not want to agree to this i will respect it but make yourself known if that is the case.

I agree with the HC proposal and am inclined to vote nay against any who get greedy with it or i may have them walk the plank or keelhaul them which we are fond of doing.

Good luck, this will require a brand new strategy of game playing for me. A challenge indeed.

I agree with all of the above. As the Black Dragon I will go for Amberland. My second choice would have been Torvale, but it seems the pirates are there. So I will head for Runnimede as my second region, though the regions are not touching. I am good with no attacks or invasions until after turn 10. I will also respect the High Council civility.

If the Tyrant is in Runnimede, we may need to reconfigure our second region choices. I am hoping Mad Hatter and Canticar post, so we know we have agreement on 10 turn truce and on High Council and on regions. If no post, will have to assume hostility.

Good luck to all. My goals is to survive, and maybe inflict some pain on our reigning champion. Well, not just him, but on all non-Black-Dragon kingdoms.

Nice to note that 4 kingdoms were Ready by the end of today. Maybe we can get a couple of turns done over the weekend. Thunder, you are familiar with the Ready button? Not pushing you, just checking.

Well...this is a fine kettle of fish....and I HATE fish. The last two posts were at midnight my time and if I had just stayed up a little longer and seen them, my first orders would have been totally different. Anyway, first time playing the Tyrants. Start off in Amberland (as the BL probably knows if he reconned a certain city), Runnimede, Arcania and Synisvania (7 pc's). I can agree to a 10 turn NAP. I guess I'm going to go for Synisvania and the Sands, It's going to take me a bit longer to secure either, as I just spent 95% of my start up enamoring and moving emmies and military into regions claimed by others. Hey....but no worries, it's just a game and I want to see what the Tyrants can do...done pouting....let's go Smile

LOL sorry my man, hate when that happens. VBM was kind enough to start our game thread and since i stay caught up in the forum i notice right away when there is a new post. I am wondering if PI always has capital in Torvale and TY always has capital in Amberland now, anyone know? The 10 turns of peace should help us out, help you out. My puny groups were also dispersed and trying to make my way back to home so you arent too far behind me anyways. I was last one to process my turn last night. I was waiting for everyone to post here before i did, had no idea everyone else was already done. You arent waiting on me this turn tho. Smile So whenever you are ready, Son of Conan , hit that ready button. Touche.

Sorry about the confusion. The Tyrant starting location varies, so we really had no idea of your start. Hopefully the ten turn truce will help you get down there. The Tyrant moves pretty fast and is pretty spread out with lots of starting pop centers.

Demon Princes here, I will take Eastern Steppes and Talking Mountains. I am good with 10 turns, although a 10 turn truce in a 24 turn game seems a bit long. Good with the HC agreement.

No...hate to disagree, but the Tyrants don't move fast. This probably one of the worst movement kingdoms I've ever played. But it is what it is and will do my best. Smile

I seemed to have missed something with this new thread and new numbering.  What game is this?  All I see is "5005".  I hate being in the dark. Was there a previous thread? How was there suddenly a new game?
