Yes, and reading it through again it actually makes me wonder. Did Rick mean only private messages? On the other hand, open communication on the forum I would assume makes it less prone for "unfair" alliances or convincing (especially new) players to gang up on one player less likely (or something similar).

But actually a good point you brought up Acererak. Can anyone (Rick?) confirm the diplo rules for this?

(RD) With the mix maybe we should just go full forum diplomacy- makes it a lot simpler. I'm open to it anyway.

Yes, would probably be the easiest, so I second that.

The two new players have unlimited correspondence (private message, email, forum, phone calls.  The only restriction for them is they are not to barter information to a third kingdom learned from another ("Hey Sorcerer, the Halfling told me he is going to invade The Sword Coast".  Generally, the intent is to bring new players up to speed by having access for questions and answers with all other players and getting general advice.

For the other ten players, you can communicate any way and time you like with the new players, again, not to line up a joint attack on a third kingdom, but to help mentor the newb's.  For tjhe other ten kingdoms, it is the normal late season forum diplomacy.

We are newly awakened and returning to this world, and learning the ways to gently reclaim areas of culture that once, in a prior age, were ours.

We invite your folk to depart peacefully and shall move our armies away from this town and on to other pursuits. It is our intent, on the advice of (experienced players) respected advisors, that we eventually restore Elven banners to this town. What say you and - should you intend on withdrawal - how much further time do you require?

Some distant cousins of the court - a governor and agent - look to return home. They shall cross the (RA village) Rubicon along the way, as such is the distance they travel that they need someplace to recover. My hope is that they shall find a safe harbor, and I assure you that they shall leave immediately once the day passes.

Well met Great Lord of the High Elves. We the Rangers would also prefer a peaceful solution to this situation. We have invested time and resources in building up Four Winds from a small village into a bustling trading town with a bazaar and a small harbour for our trading fleet.

But with that said - we understand your concern and your intentions to to include Four Winds as a part of your kingdom in The Crown Islands and raise the Elven banner there. I would thus suggest we can hold on to Four Winds until mid-winter (T6) when we will tax the village and leave it to your diplomats to then claim the at that point neutral town. This will give us time to conclude our trading business there as well as make up the resources we have invested to build up this town. Would this be satisfactory?

Your diplomats and agents are free to travel through our lands. We on our part hope, that we, when we have found a new place to base our merchants from the Four Winds, can continue to conduct peaceful trade in the Sea of the Forgotten, alongside the Elven traders.

This is quite satisfactory - thank you, Lord Ranger.

Wise and strong Ranger King,
While traveling home cloaks drawn close over their armor, my captains noticed a neutral village at RC. Perhaps your envoys will sway them to your banner?

I look forward to months of trade with you, my furry footed friend. Perhaps in late Autumn we can discuss more details once I secure Zanthia. I also request that you allow me to keep my town in your region until then. I will tax it then (turn 4). If you want the location, let me know.

Mighty Red Dragon King. We would like to propose that we both seize all hostilities for now. As two mighty warrior kingdom I right now only see us wearing each other down without any of us coming up on top, at least not anytime soon. The other kingdoms are surely following this with satisfaction and already making plans how to exploit this situation. This current path will only lead to the downfall of both our great kingdoms.

So, we propose that we both agree to halting all hostilities (both military and diplomatic), effective immediately (so no attacks this turn), and tax all PCs in each others territory in our possession this turn as well. We both refrain from any hostilities in each others home territory at least during the whole spring season, attacking each other in other regions not counting. We also both release the highest diplomat currently imprisoned, against a symbolic sum of 1 gold.

We are looking forward to your respons asap.

RD-RA: I'm open to a truce, but not back to status quo. I've got the advantage so peace is going to cost you. We roasted your King alive and ate him at the last banquet so I don't have anyone to release- and you only have my fool, kill him. We care not. So here are my terms:

We halt hostilities but I keep 2 villages in your region while taking back the town in mine you have. That's the best deal you're going to get. Or I can take it all. Your choice.

We know that the Red Dragons are a proud race, but fact remains. You might be slightly better off for now, but this turn might be very damaging to you, if you insist on fighting. The Rangers are also known to be a proud people, and we are not going to let down our arms until the last man has fallen, and certainly not letting dragons roam in our home villages.

So, the original offer stands, less the exchange of emmies, but that's as far as it goes. The alternative is fighting ´till the end, and I can assure you that will hurt, a lot, regardless if you emerge as the winner or loser. So, up to you. You still have time to reconsider, but in that case you need to do it fast. Or we are both going down a path that most likely is going to destroy us both. But if that will be, so will be. What say you, mighty dragons?
