I think summon death would have worked better in your case. I learned the thing attacking DE capital using earthquake I had even troops and figured an earthquake would help put me over the top getting good damage in the early rounds. Attack at a 3 but guess my troops still started to get hit to hard and retreated. Spells in combat just do not mean the same thing as actual troops with the same numbers. For my case my WA troops defense value must be terrible. but I would think WI troops should be a bit tougher based on being the strongest of the pure mages and all.

as for the numbers. and no not poor warlock. I have no had any problem being attacked even if it does not sound that way. Nothing wrong with the attacks but that just does not sound as good so no fun. here is from I think the last turn I controlled amberland
Reports from the countryside produce Regional Intelligence concerning the sighting of the
following foreign military groups:
REGION GROUP NAME GROUP SIZE
AMBERLAND 1ST WITCHLORD DIVISION
AMBERLAND 1ST RED DRAGON ARMY
AMBERLAND 2ND DWARVEN DIVISION
AMBERLAND 2ND RED DRAGON DIVISION
AMBERLAND 1ST BLACK DRAGON ARMY GROUP

DW was not fighting me we had a nap. he was only there to "just walking through nothing special" happened of course to land on my old capital the same turn the RD moved off of it. this is what I was calling skirting the NAP, all good I had an invisible group there and took it back anyway. BL ended up attacking the GI capital but I did not know that at the time. GN keeps saying himself neutral even though he is openly allied to RD and sending him large amounts of food until he was finally attacked. you still do not want to count the GN even though he has a higher production in his little town than I have total. Lets make a real world example. if two countries were at war and another sent food and supplies to help feed the armies of one of those countries you would probably basically be at war with them as well. The RA never was with us I think even your SO can confirm that. We had talks but nothing came about. he was a lone ranger and did not really want to work with the rest of us.

forgot to add this was also about the time the SO showed up. So I think maybe only 3 directly attacking at one time but plenty of people taking turns. Still no problem with it. I never felt like I was unjustly being teamed up on. just spinning my tail.

Yes, exactly! Just start with your kingdom abbreviation (eg- "WA"), if you don't want to give the whole kingdom name, but don't just start typing without saying who you are, even if you did so last week - no one is going back to old messages, most likely.

(TR) Don't believe everything you hear. Big Grin As for being kicked out of Arcania, my ally the GI controls that region at the moment. Plus, I have several towns there. That suits me. As for 'finishing the job' that depends on the player. Some will quit when they are totaled. Some (and I am certainly one of those) fight on. I'm really pleased that the GN stuck with it, even though he had NO pop centers at all at one point! Good for him - might be that I have to play some more Gnomeball if he grows back too strong, but it's impossible to finish off a player if they don't want to quit. I wouldn't expect you to fold your tent, either, even if all your pop centers got nuked like your capital just did.

Intense!

(AN) 3v1? I hope not. If someone else is in the mists, please let me know so I can politely ask them to leave Wink. It's my region.

WI here. Yep, same turn you came in to Northern Mists, the Elf came in, and the UN hit a couple of my emissaries/agents. Seemed coordinated. Either way, the AN invasion was well done.
By the way, the Gnome was never 100% homeless. He had his little village in Arcania Smile. That last bastion should die now that the Giant has a group there. We may throw a party at the passing of that last home away from home.
Thanks for the advice on the battle. It just seemed crazy that the AN group did not get wiped Sad.
As for the Troll, quit playing Gnomeball. According to the Gnomes, that was outlawed at the same time as Dwarf Tossing.
Someone just sent me a good point in an email. Let's remember not to take any of this forum stuff personally, and just consider it good old-fashioned taunting. So, to the alliance of alliances, consider yourself taunted - and the defensive alliance (called Alliance of Evil by some misinformed folks) will still prevail, eventually, well, some day, well, hopefully.

(UN) I did what? I would never kidnap anyone. I am only interested in training agents and wizards. If emissaries and agents and whatnot disappear you can't always blame the lowly UN.

;-)

All agreed it's a really enjoyable game so far.

#57
Yep, cannot always blame the UN. That makes sense. But what if we captured an agent after the deed and he admitted he worked for the UN? Hopefully, we can then believe it Smile. Though it would be cool to have an artifact or ability to cast blame elsewhere.

#58
Rogue agent, acting without orders.

#59
(WA) I have trained all my agents to say they work for the underworld if captured.

BTW, Vball, i absolutely agree with you that the magic combat system is wonky and needs work. I would expect the same results as you with that high of an earthquake spell against 2 lowly AN brigades.
