Seeking New Heroes Primeval
#31
(DW) T3 went as planned got my first region. Then noticed I made my first mistake this game and it will cost me getting my second region on turn 4. I issued a 330 order instead of a 320 for my duke in second region city. This will delay me one turn. Looking forward time to start building up my political core and wizards

Speaking about mistakes I sent a group to 725 but marched them right through one of my towns on the 2nd square...

Not any real damage though.

No player will claim to make no mistakes (unless they are lying). In fact, I recently had a renowned player email me that he intended to play a perfect game and promptly had two mistakes in the first two turns.

This is really something that all players should understand, even appreciate. Do not get too wound up over a mistaken order. Don't miss a turn, of course, but don't expect to play mistake free.

This in a sense is almost akin to sports strategy. Some kingdoms have more of a ground and pound approach, others need finesse, some quick striking. The sturdier, less dynamic ones aren't usually as affected by a mistake as are the sexy, unpredictable ones. And it really does help to send some emails to players in normal games (not anonymous). Lots of free info may be had, an ally or confidant may be gained, all without any gold or orders.

Another mistake. Did not plan ahead on T4 to have a group at my capital to gain reinforcements! Moved the group there for T5 but it was too late. Did this in 2 games.

And there were going to be 2 EL brigades this turn Sad

Are there new rules about recruiting from a town? Does it still lower the Pop by 3,000 and the Gold and Food production both lowered by 1,000? Or did I read that has been amended in some way?

No worries Drogo your EL troops are probly more cost effective in the long run not being there. But yes need to check that you have a inactive group to start turn 5 or have a group on your capital. Another common mistake is not calculating in the price to have the reinforcements as they show up prior to paying for them.

Still takes census hit but not longer gold and food.
