#128 - Steel Resurgent

What you are suggesting, Wynter, is slanted and offensive. i have no podium finishes so that would not be a good strategy for me. you are slighting Vball's podium finishes, which far exceed any alliances with me. are you even in this game? why are you in this thread? none of us planned to ally in this game, and were each recruited by Demons or Reds once a war was imminent. and you have no idea what interactions, or lack, we have in 138. i haven't even figured that out yet. i find your insinuations unfounded and very personal. thus, i have written in and withdrawn from Alamaze because i would rather do other things than be attacked for playing a game.

Hey guys... a couple of things from your humble Deliverer:
1) Let's remember that we're all here to play a game. If you're not getting what you want out of it, adjust. If you notice that certain players tend to always work together, either adjust accordingly (in some cases this means anonymous games) or avoid the situation. I like to think I don't always work with the same folks, but I do know that I've found some people to be easier to work with than others, and I'm more likely to work with them going forward... to the point that eventually it might be seen as a trend (or a Pattern).
2) Hamlet, I personally would love to see you hang around. If that means in different formats than a standard individual, so be it. I know Will is always looking for folks for a warlords (anonymous or otherwise) or titan matchup. He won't stop harassing me about it... and he's not a bad mentor if you don't mind working with someone that's not quite as good as that Dusi guy.
3) To Ry Vor's point, let's allow this thread to be what it was intended to be, which is a celebration/lamentation of game 128. For some, this is their first podium finish, and I'm sure they'd rather enjoy the glory that was the game just ended than to hear our complaints. If we think there is an issue that warrants a more broad discussion, let's throw that out on the general discussion forum.

(DE) I guess I came to the party late. The content of this thread surprised me.

I guess I am just dense. Is Wynterbreeze upset because Vballmike, Hamlet, and Daredevil are friends that play the game or is Wynterbreeze upset because Wynterbreeze doesn't have friends in the game?

As Kevindusi points out there are different formats of games. Perhaps an Anonymous game would be more to your liking.

As for the game. I did not enjoy this game. To start out on turn 3 in battle meant that my position would never have the opportunity to develop. While the WA was never really effective in Arcania his presence with the GI meant that plans had to be changed and development stymied.

I give credit to the GI, WA, and TR. While we were in game conflict for the duration of the game the communication was always cordial and sometimes humorous.

I give even more credit to my allies, the WI, RD, Bl, SO and GN. While I did not have consistent contact with these fine players they all communicated with each other. The coordination was like none I had seen in the game before. I was thrilled to see the SO win and the WI come in second.

While it was interesting to play in a game with two major factions going head to head from very early on, I would not like to play in many games like this. I prefer to develop a Kingdom a little to learn its capabilities before being smashed to little pieces. Thanks to everyone who played. I know I learned from the experience.

(UN) I was neutral the whole time and didn't really do a whole lot.

(just kidding, I'll chime in here but have been doing a lot of business travel)

Still eagerly awaiting the neutral write-up Smile
We were on opposite sides but did not interact much. I just kept hearing about assassinations....
