OK, are teams drafted or assigned? And I think to DuPont's point, we reverse order then on kingdom selection.

I am operating on the assumption that we are prebuilding.

Your initial post says 'team drafting and kingdom drafting'.

I thought was a draft. But wynands game if he needs a super team to win this time that is fine. Does having the first team mean they Draft kingdoms last?

I was just responding to Rick's post.

I am ok with drafting...and if we are talking about superteams, I think being on a team with the game designer might put you into that same boat, no? Smile

Do we want to draft? Rick - are you ok with that?

As I said, I think the idea of Magic vs. Steel is that in Magic you join with your two buddies for that game and its all up front and everyone gets it, whereas in Steel you are supposed to be on your own at the onset. Hoping that some usual Steel partners sign up for this as a team.

Since we are again allowing players to choose formats, at this point to bring some clarity to what's going on in this one, I ask that Wynand specify how teams and kingdoms are chosen, this being his thread. Then if someone doesn't like it, they can withdraw.

Just a suggestion - kingdom draft order is inverse of Valhalla status points. Seems fair, and brings more attraction to getting a newer player on your side to get that kingdom you want to base a strategy around.

BTW, I am not currently signed up for this game and didn't play in #144 either, regarding the superteam comment. In fact, I think if I was on a team, that would disqualify the team from superteam status. In maybe 9 games, I have one Podium (2nd place) finish, and that was due more to allies and circumstance than any individual brilliance. I'm usually wearing a bulls-eye, circa #150 the latest example.

I'm still not clear on if we are going with pre-selected teams or drafting. I had spoken to a third player who expressed interest in being on a team with me and one of the other players, but I'm not sure what to tell him at this point.
