As far as I can tell, the new result is legit though clearly on the opposite end of the luck spectrum. Your move against me was very well played - I'm learning a lot from you even in games where you aren't my mentor.

Was the group there at the beginning of the turn, or did it arrive after it had been relocated?

The basic situation was he had a patrol at his capital so I did not try and kill the figures and took the capital hoping his other groups were full. Seems he lost something else or a group that created a opening for his capital to be moved to an area with a group. I had purposely not taken the capital the turn before trying to get him to not get his reinforcements. Would have rather not had to deal with 6 more TR brigades.

He already had a group at the location of the new capital. On this run, he destroyed the enemy group that was there. In the orig run, the other enemy group survived, causing his cap to bounce somewhere else.

Turn 20 was processed and I failed at my SVC victory check.
Turn 19 I had all requirements met, but could NOT declare victory until some arbitrary number of turns arrived. Turn 15 was the arbitrary turn requirement for SVC when this contest started. Turn 17 was when I was preparing to declare victory initially - until I learned that turn 20 was the new arbitrary turn number. For more than two years I have posted that I hate the entire concept of SVC. JumpingFist convinced me to give it a fair try. I have . . . I hate it even more now.

Totally understand that you hate SVC, and why. I'm honestly kind of neutral on it, myself. And I'm very sad you missed the victory check, as you know.
With that said -- and totally understanding your frustration about the whole situation -- out of fundamental fairness, I do think it's appropriate to note that the T20 prerequisite for SVC victory checks was actually your idea, which Rick considered and implemented. http://kingdomsofarcania.net/forum/showt...3#pid27393

Same thing happened in Game 160, similar timing, similar issue. Lots of write up about it on some thread.
Hopefully, that issue is resolved where rule changes that require some notice will give some period of notice. |
