Game #110 - First Anonymous Game
#31
How could you possibly betray someone you never communicated with? We would all want to see a post mortem!

I anticipate this being a game of complete and utter chaos. Nice!

Please do not take any of my comments as a personal insult or as a criticism of the game 'Alamaze', which I very much enjoy. Rather, I hope that my personal insight and unique perspective may, in some way, help make 'Alamaze' more fun, a more successful financial venture, or simply more sustainable as a long-term project. Anyone who reads this post should feel completely free to ignore, disregard, scorn, implement, improve, dispute, or otherwise comment upon its content.

So it sounds like no messaging whatsoever, including orders 341-349, if I understand correctly.

1. The only code change is the removal of postion/player listing on turn 0
...etc.

Actually, no code change may be necessary if the software just loads the players/personas from a file or such. If so then you just have to overwrite the personas with generic names like, Player A, Player B,...etc. if this makes it easier for you.

So the rulers section on turn 0 will list as:
AN The Servants of the Ancient Ones Player A
BL The Dark Skies of the Black Dragons Player B
...etc.

That way, no code changes are necessary and you only have to change the personas to be generic and you're done. Game on Smile

Of course it all integrates, the game setup process uses your account number to assign the position being played. This associates with persona and populates several tables for the game and turn based information.
It will require changing the code, I'll likely add a test for game number to obscure the output and then add games to the test if more of this variant is needed to satisfy demand....

I weeded out some of the posts that had to do with should we do this and how much should it be, because:
1. We decided to do it, and;
2. We decided not to charge any more for it than other Classic games.

So we are at either 8 or 9 signups now, depending on whether a vacillating player or two decide to engage (not to each other, to Game 110).

Cool...

Anonymous games for the exact same price is great!

I believe the player base will like this type of game once in a while.

I'm jumping a little late into this thread, but I was under the impression when the thought first came up that we could use orders 341-348 (not 349 as that is designed to start external communications to the game). The other orders are very limited in their communications ability i.e. a multi turn lag in getting something discussed. I was under the impression that the messaging that was to be honor bound to avoid was the messages you can send on the bottom of the order forms.

I believe that it gas been decided that there will be no communication, trade, or coordination between the kingdoms in this game. A completely blind game. I imagine that all the declations would be to declare one another enemy.

Or perhaps the claiming of an ally will be an open invitation to not take each other's PC's/attack each others groups...? Not as convenient as open communication for sure, but maybe something??
