Game 5684
(09-29-2023, 04:01 PM)Strylian Wrote: To the Esteemed Great Archon of the Ancient Ones,

From the verdant heart of Nyvaria, I, Theodrin, King of the Halflings, reach out with a plea grounded in mutual respect and trust.

The dark shadow of conflict has befallen our tranquil lands. As you may have heard, we find ourselves facing the sinister might of the Underworld, who have declared war upon us unprovoked. While the halfling folk's spirit remains unbroken, the wisdom of our elders and the geography of our realm compels us to seek a passage through the lands under your wise stewardship.

Under your rule, the lands of Pelinor and Stormgate lie as a strategic corridor between our two kingdoms. With the utmost respect and understanding of the sanctity of your domain, I request passage for our emissaries through your realm. Let me assure you, Great Archon, our intent is singular — to confront the Underworld and defend our homeland. Our passage through your territories bears no designs of aggression towards the Secret Servants of the Ancient Ones.

Our histories testify to the peace and harmony that have prevailed along our borders.

In a gesture of good faith and to strengthen the bonds of our neighborly ties, I propose the formation of an alliance. A pact that signifies not just mutual non-aggression but also our shared values of peace, cooperation, and a united front against any forces that might threaten the harmony of our realms.

We believe that cooperation and understanding can ensure a peaceful and harmonious future for our people and our lands.

I humbly await your response and hope for your understanding and support in these trying times.

With the most profound respect,

Theodrin

King of the Halflings, Protector of Nyvaria

Awwww!!!  Don't you just love the Halflings!!  Yes, my lovely neighbors, you go right ahead and pass through.  Mind the flower gardens.  (it's me Jon Deaux, forgot my password)

The harden warriors of our Halfling Spec Ops just loved your flower gardens, They chatted for hours while on the march about how you got your roses so big and colorful.

King Theodin of the Halflings to the Halfling people of Nyvaria and all the good people of the realms of Alamaze.

"Good evening, my fellow Nyvarians,

Today, I can report to the Halfling people, and to the world, that the First Halfling Division, our elite Special Forces, have conducted an operation that has brought to justice Power 7 Mage Damadus, and his apprentice, Power 5 Mage Mystirian, two individuals who have wrought immeasurable suffering and despair upon our land and its citizens.

In the past years, our realm has known pain that words can scarcely describe. The village of Westeria, once a beacon of peace and prosperity, was decimated by a meteor called down by Damadus, its citizens lost, its laughter and joy silenced forever. This act of unforgivable malevolence will forever remain in our hearts, a stark reminder of the devastation that the forces of darkness can inflict upon the innocent.

Tonight, we can announce that, through steadfast determination, skill, and the unwavering courage of our brave soldiers, the shadow cast by Damadus and Mystirian has been lifted.

This achievement serves not as a note of triumph, but as a solemn remembrance of the cost of freedom and security. We recall those we have lost, not just in Westeria, but across all of Nyvaria, and we honor their memory by standing firm, united against those who wish to bring darkness upon our land.

The action taken against these agents of chaos is a testament to our resolve, to our commitment to justice, and to the tireless pursuit of fairness and righteousness that has always defined the halfling people.

Our victory is not defined by vengeance against those who have wronged us. We find our triumph in the communities we build, the fellowship we nurture, and the unbreakable spirit that has carried us through our darkest hours. We are, and will always be, a people of great heart, immeasurable courage, and an enduring belief in a better tomorrow.

Tonight, let us stand together in quiet reflection, in solemn respect for those we have lost, and in acknowledgment of the tireless work of our valiant forces, who have once again demonstrated that there is no shadow from which we cannot emerge, stronger and more united.

Let it be known across the realms that Nyvaria will stand, unyielding, against the specters of malice and oppression. We will protect our own, safeguard our legacy, and ensure that the lives we build will endure, untainted by the vile touch of hatred and malevolence.

May the lights of Nyvaria shine ever bright, a beacon of hope, endurance, and the unwavering strength of unity in the face of adversity. Let our lights scatter the darkness, reveal the path ahead, and guide us towards a future where no village will know the fate of Westeria.

May the lost rest in gentle peace. May their memories fuel our determination and guide our way towards a future where every halfling child can gaze at the stars in wonder, unburdened by the shadows of malevolence and fear.

Thank you. May your hearts be light and your spirits undaunted as we walk forward, together, into the morrow."
Live your life so that the fear of death can never enter your heart, be not like those whose hearts are filled with fear of death, so that when their time comes, they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way.

[**The sounds of bustling halflings preparing for the oncoming onslaught resonate in the background. There's an urgency in the air, but also determination. In a grand hall of the Halfling kingdom, the Halfling King stands atop a raised platform, his presence commanding the attention of all present. He takes a deep breath, then begins to address his people with gravity and fervor reminiscent of Winston Churchill.**]

**King Theodin**: "My cherished halfling kin, countrymen and allies,

We find ourselves at an inflection point, a moment in our history that will be spoken of in tales and songs for generations to come. The Sorcerer Kingdom, driven by motives known only to them, has taken it upon themselves to violate the sanctity of our peaceful land. As I speak, two formidable armies march towards our beloved city of Bronze Canyon.

However, let it be clearly understood and let it echo in the ears of those who threaten us: we, the halflings of this great kingdom, will never waver in the face of adversity. We shall meet them on the fields, in the valleys, by the rivers, and on the walls of our cities. We shall defend our homes, whatever the cost may be.

When we look back upon the annals of our history, we see a people who, though peaceful in nature, have never shied away from standing tall and firm against threats. This time shall be no different. Though the odds may seem grim, though the nights ahead may be long and fraught with danger, we shall stand, shoulder to shoulder, protecting every inch of our sacred land.

I say to you, this is not the end. It may not even be the beginning of the end. But, with tenacity and the indomitable halfling spirit, it might well be the end of the beginning of this conflict.

To the fiends that think they can subdue us with sheer numbers and might, remember this: we may be small in stature, but our courage, unity, and resilience are boundless. We have faced down darkness before, and we will do so again, with our hearts full and our spirits unbroken.

The battles ahead will test us, strain us, but they will also define us. We shall show the Sorcerer Kingdom, and all who might doubt us, that we are made of stern stuff. And when the dust settles and the echoes of war fade, the tales will tell of a brave halfling kingdom that, in its darkest hour, shone the brightest.

In these trying times, look to your left, look to your right. See in your brothers and sisters the very essence of our shared legacy. Let the memories of our ancestors fuel your spirit, and the dreams of a free future guide your actions.

We will go on to the end. Bronze Canyon will be defended to the last stone, the last blade of grass, the last breath. And from the fire of this conflict, we shall emerge, not diminished, but stronger, our heads held high, our future secure.

Let us march forward, not in fear, but with hope, with unity, with the fiery spirit that has been the hallmark of our people since time immemorial. Together, we shall prevail.

God bless you all, and may the spirits of the land watch over and protect our great Halfling Kingdom."

[**As the Halfling King concludes his speech, the hall is filled with a resounding chorus of cheers and affirmations. There's a palpable sense of unity and determination among the people, ready to defend their homeland against any threat.**]

Hail King of the Werewolves!

I have a challenge for you: You (your biggest group) and me (my biggest group) do a tango at HI (my capital) with the winner getting some spoils.

If you win, I drop.

If I win, you leave me alone for 5 turns.

I propose this for turn 32.

Let me know what you plan to do.

FT- LY well we thought you was on your way to victory and we would all be ruled by Lycans... oops! Now I focus on you. Your ally in the Underworld for the win!

Free-trade! for all!

Sorry, I have been absent from the boards for a week or 2. DK that would have been an exciting fight I had hoped to have regardless as I had done a Revelation spell and was headed to hit your capital. That spell most definitely needs to go or needs tuning way OP.

Bararod Jhaan, the Werewolf King's Message to the Free Traders:

Free Traders,

We have a non-aggression pact of sorts with the Lord of Shadows, but rest assured, the blades in the night you have witnessed were wielded by our own. We do not rely on others to do our bidding.

We admire your tenacity and strength, and we eagerly anticipate the day when your bloodline becomes part of our pack.

Well, yet another turn (Turn #36) will soon process for this game, and that will leave what? Just four more turns after that?

The end is near. The end is near, indeed!

Not a particularly great game for me, as far as performance goes, but there's been some fun moments mixed in with some boredom. I like to think that I've learned a few things, this game - some of which I have even applied to other games of Alamaze that I've been playing in. Even still, I continue to make the same mistakes, in some instances. Learning the hard way appears to be part of my Alamaze genetic code.

I haven't been much of a threat to any other kingdom, so far this game. An annoyance, perhaps, but definitely not a threat. Honestly, I think that I played a little better the first half of this game than I have the last half. But live and learn, I reckon.

Perhaps someone can clue me in, but what has the Lizard kingdom been doing all game long? Is that kingdom at war with anyone else? Just general curiosity is all.

The Lizard Kingdom has done very little this game other than build. I think I mentioned to you Charles in another game that I was struggling with time to get all my turns done. This was one of the games that I just did the basic orders so I didn't have to drop. The plan was about turn 30, once some other games had finished I could devote more time to this one and attack someone, but I went on a family cruise and had even less time then. Fortunately I am back and now active so we shall see how this one plays out.

Well, this one is almost over.

I may just sleep through the last few turns.
