It looks like the latest Valhalla update reveals a new reigning Grand Champion (most wins) ...AND a new reigning High Chancellor (most status points).
Congratulations to Vball Michael and to JumpingFist. The Frost Lord,

Congrats Vball Michael and JumpingFist! Very humbling to see that meteoric of a rise!

Will likely be the shortest time on top with 146 only a few turns away from being done with Wynand and The Deliverer both at 3 regions.
For the next young Upstart that wants to try and beat me to the top. I joined my first game 10 months ago and am now at the Top of the rankings. Have fun trying to beat that one.

Diamond and I have talked about seasoning the rankings, such that say, points in 2015 are double points in 2014. And also maintain an All-Time ranking, where all points are equal.

Thanks to Lord Diamond and Frost Lord again for frequent Valhalla updates.
I pay attention mostly to the Kingdom rankings. Readers should know only completed games are counted, and for most of 2014, we had Rex only games. What I look for as designer is that there is no hard pattern of a kingdom dominating. While Dwarves and Elves have not moved up yet, I think they will in the next few months. Meanwhile it seems the Dark Elves have moved up significantly and somehow the Underworld has elevated to top spot, while it seems only a couple months ago some players were saying they couldn't win. They got no bumps in recent changes, although maybe helped in 2015 by the Move Prisoners and Guard Prisoners new orders. Also new players often take Elves or Dwarves, and as we know, it is difficult to win in your first few games.

I would think you could kill two birds with one stone by making the game report the correct status points. When I add my other games up I almost always come about 30% or more short on points that are listed in the new set of rules. Another points thing to fix would be giving the correct final total for experienced games bonus and championship bonuses. The last experienced game that was listed in the write-up being worth more points was worth the same as any other game. At 2x this year is 2016 going to be 3x or 4x? With such a multiplier I would think the totals become meaningless. There is already a chart for over the last 12 months this basically says over the last year. Would be easy to just add another chart that totals only from the last championship game or something to that effect. While I am babbling I think once the latest REX only games finish the REX victory should go back up to maybe 8k or 10k to reflect just how hard it is to get with SVC enabled.

If you look at the file I posted in this thread you will see that we already have the rankings posted by the last ten games, the last year, and all games. Lord Diamond

Oh, that hurts. King for a day. Dethroned by the returning deposed monarchs. When will the people make up their minds?
Anyway, thanks to LD for keeping this thread very current. |
