Naps, Mutual Defense Agreements do these allow the NO to move through a napping neighbor to attack a foe over a simple village in the sea and an Ambasador.
I am glad to renew OUR nap.

I can see the RA fighting for his MDP the SA in Amberland against any foe that threatens there, but I must hold both the NO and RA is the lowest regard if Either breaks their previously agreed upon NAP.  This giving of a notice of 2 turns is the same as a declaration of war.  We may be The Death Eater's, but do hold HONOR high.

NO- I am breaking nothing. I honor my NAP with the Ranger and expect him to honor his. He can choose to declare war on me if he wishes. As for the SA- we have never had any agreement. I have moved no troops through Ranger territory either. I've beenplaying Alamaze since 1989 and always have held my agreements.

Moving through areas does not break NAPs or MDAs.

If the NAP didn't have a clause in it, when made then not sure you can break the NAP. I would suggest people be more careful when writing a NAP. I know if you break a NAP with me you won't have friendly relations with me in the future.

If you make a breakable NAP and that time comes, so be it. Remember I can only control the agreement I have with you, not the agreements you made with others. You are responsible for how you manage your agreements.

- NE turn 20 would work for us as well.

NE > ALL It appears that NAPS have a Definite line on the map. Some will end on Turn 12, others extended through Turns 18 or 20. Some with all neighbor's, others only on given sides. Some none at all. Turn 12 approaches, so I suggest we all review how we stand at Turn 12's end, as I expect some fireworks. Also, turn 12 is the cutoff for Citizen Status, so beware, we may see some other changes too!

Noble Centaur,

Our rocky mountains are perfect for building wizard towers but should hold no appeal for a peaceful forest folk. By the same token your forests are a bit too dark and damp for our tastes. What say you to a NAP until T20. We want to make sure that we have the best seat in the house when it's time to serve popcorn.

Can you drink from the Sea of Foreboding? Is it really the Lake of Foreboding and somehow misrepresented on our maps? Granted, we mages don't pay much attention to water since it is seemingly impossible to teleport onto a chunk of land big enough to hold a town and an army - but not a teleporting patrol. Our mages are currently researching this oddity and will share such information once we have it.

But to address the situation, yes, of course we stand ready to help you defend yourself against the Ranger if he decides that the mighty Sacred Order can't fight their own battles. Our mages have unlocked powerful spells that can blast entire cities off the map if needed. We would prefer to continue our peaceful research, of course, so we hope that all of this "misunderstanding" can be resolved peacefully.

NO-WA Well met mighty Warlock. It fills the people of the Sands with joy that our steadfast ally is ready to stand by our side. Let us hope that the Ranger stands by his agreement with me and sits this out.

(RA) To all players regarding NAPS and MDAS.  Much has been said and there is a lot of wisdom in it.  Honor is like virginity, easily lost but not recovered.  I have NAPS with several players and a MDA with SA.  To me this means that if someone attacks either SA or myself the other will come to his defense.  I intend to honor this.  If NO attacks SA knowing I have a MDA with him he knowingly puts me in a position where I cannot honor both agreements.
What would happen if I launched an unprovoked on WA, knowing he has a MDA with NO?  NO would have to break one of his treaties.  This is the position I am in should NO go ahead and start a war with SA.
I'm a new traveler in Alamaze but have been gaming since J.F.K. was president.  Respect and honor go a long way and so far I've seen a lot of it in this group.  Threats mean little to me as Rangers have no fear.  I hope the peace can last awhile longer.

Friends, why don't you exchange another village, which will aid you both in your seasons of famine.  I would hate to have to choose which one of you to support as you have both been steadfast friends.

(RA)  NO - Nomad friend, if I am forced to chose between our NAP and the MDP with SA I will have to chose the stronger agreement.  I truly hope I am not forced to make that decision.  I'm very content with the desert dwellers and would like to stay that way.  Your favorite season approaches!

NO- RA . That choice is yours of course. I will be forced if this does happen to invoke my pact with the Red Wizard of the mountains if you engage me.

NO- SA. Here's my offer: I take your sea holdings and leave the rest alone. Apparently you are gaining in Torvale so you have plenty to share. In return I would agree to an NAP. If you decline I'll take all of that and more. I'm not concerned about your military bc I kept my troops at home, where we have absolute Supremacy in the sands. Bring your troops down- I'll be happy to fight them in the desert after you move for 5 turns.

SA-NO your asking for 3 villages In Amberland? This I will not do. However I do I offer you 1 village on the sea of Forboding in Amberland, so you may vacation there and enjoy the cool waters and 2 more in Torvale? They all produce about the same. I do this for the good of all involved.

NO-WA . Great friend. I hope you won't have to intervene in the next few turns against the Ranger but if he decides to attack me I'll be happy to divine his pop centers and share with you. I know distance is nothing to the great Warlock. I remain, your steadfast friend.

(DU) - The Lord of the Forest finds it odd that Holy Man freely gives up land to Sandy so easily. If the Desert king continues his push, let us know I could be willing to help.
WA - The Lord of the Forest welcomes peace with the Mage of the Mountains for 10 additional moons.

NE > WA/NO
Great kings.
I feel that there is a little under the table dealings here. You both would tie up the DU, DE, LI, RA and the NE with naps. The GN is hard presses by the TY, the SO is in dire danger if rumors are true. I for one am sharing in the SO's troubles, although in a small way thus far. This leaves the WA, DE, LI, and NO a free hand to depose the SA, and be in a position to attack the RA, DU and NE once these naps end. The PI has yet to be heard on this issue, and I am sure his commercial plans may be disrupted by a map wide WAR.
I have no nap with any of the Eastern or Southern Kingdoms outside of the Great Red WA. Our current nap extends until Turn 20, the mid point of the game. I will honor my NAP with the WA as I hold honor HIGH. That being said, any other kingdom trying to expand into the Central regions( Arcania/Amberland) must consider themselves at WAR with the NE.
DU I offer you a mutual defence agreement for as long as you want one!
