Oh, the RA may have thought I attacked him but what happened was I accidentally turned my village in #8 neutral, then he took it when he got the region and I just took it back with my emmy.
PI, I mostly moved on your village just to have somewhere to base out of while perhaps being able to annoy other foes. This would be a good time for me to offer my services to anybody who wants somebody else messed with and doesn't have the orders - hire me! Shoot, I'd even work for the GN as I certainly did attack him first.  Angel Not the SA or NE, though, you guys are off my Christmas list.  Big Grin

SA-TY well the little tyrant has sent messengers from his hole. It was also you that stole quite a sum of gold from us. But we can let all that be water under the bridge and we will stop our persuit of your troops and loyalists if you take no further action against us and pay a fair fine. Since its obvious you couldn't possibly pay us back all the gold you stole, we want an equal percentage of your gold given to us that was taken from us, that would be about 12% as an average over the 2 months this burglary occured. We will take your word on what this amount is. We so wish to be back on your Christmas list and to have you on ours.

Rellgar the Great

Where on earth did you get the idea that I stole gold from you? I did not such thing. I even left alone your village in #7 when I was fighting in the region. For the record, I only ever steal gold from cities - I consider robbing towns or villages a waste of time. So I'm going to ask that you prove this or else take it back.

SA-TY I have the reports from my loyal subjects that say you stole this gold from  both of my cities on 3 occasions, we even captured your agent and he confessed before his life left him.

Here is the report,
Theft                  An attempt was made to steal gold from the Sacred Order city of Meridon
(Area QC): Extra security was present on the scene. 11,189 gold was stolen
from the city of Meridon! Guards pursued the agents and nearly caught them,
but somehow they escaped in the dark.

Theft                  An attempt was made to steal gold from the Sacred Order city of Evanon
(Area IN): Extra security was present on the scene. Guards were alerted to
the presence of foreign agents and prevented their activity in the area.
XXXXXXX was promoted as a result of the successful guard mission.
Our guards apprehended enemy agents while they were retreating and disposed
of them. During interrogation, the foreign agents provided the following
information, they were sent by the Tyrant kingdom.

Theft                  An attempt was made to steal gold from the Sacred Order city of Meridon
(Area QC): The target was protected by an agent team on guard in addition
to regular security. 11,189 gold was stolen from the city of Meridon!
Guards pursued the agents and nearly caught them, but somehow they escaped
                           in the dark.
(RA) - He stole gold from Zarathon too.  Not real smart as it cost him his village.

(RA) GN I think I recall you wanted to practice some steal food missions against my villages? There have been so many post and our camp is still ill after eating a bad musk ox so it is hard to keep up to date with all of the scribes. At any rate I am glad to see your agents gain in their training. You should net, on average about 4000 bushels of grain. Would it be unreasonable to ask that you gift that level for each mission so that we may keep accounts close to balance and adjust later?
It seems your agent was tortured by NO and spilled some beans. Maybe you could look east for a new food and gold source?

That is an option. I would hate to steal from a village in the south only to find that you had just taken it that turn. I suppose it is all the same.

SA-NE our priestesses are praying that you bloody your enemies.

6   KU  Demon Prin Gundibar   City    21,963   49,690   -5,100   21,387      NA

Also in the eastern steps, towns at LQ, LS, KX, we have not found his secretive town of demonic worshipers, but are close to finding it. Villages at JR, OR, IT, IX, MX, MZ
Perhaps this will save you some resources.

Just an informational message from the Mists  Our friend the Nomad sits a Viperhead with 2 groups.  3 NO patrol with masked leaders? and P3 wizards Maz the firecast and Valir.  Also, the 5 NO with Lord commander Shakar, Generals Bravos and Hannibal.  In the 5 NO are also P6 Kaznar, P5 Tegis, and P3 Miri, plus 19 brigades.
As some NAPS end this turn, and all or most of his wizards in the North, well there's the hand writing for you Southern Kings.

SA-NE how bad is it for you? What PC's do you not control? How goes the war? Our court is full of gossip and I'm very curious as to what's really happening to my north? I do hope your not angry with me for staying out of it, it is a 1 on 1 war after all. I will however leave any of your PC'S I know of alone. Good luck!

As many naps expire this turn, and the battle between the LI and his Northern neighbor's gets intense. I think the NO may have more than myself to worry about. He has built up, and now may see some other kingdom's eyeing him wolfishly. Good luck NO, as I may not win, but I will finish, and make life difficult for you for some time to come! My army at Viperhead will gladly die, buy will taste some blood first.

From the somewhat shaky Tower of the Red Mage

To NO & DE:

The campaign is definitely not going the way the Warlock would have liked. I have been caught somewhat by surprise by the behavior of changes in the game rules and over-confident of my groups ability to defend themselves against an enemy with a large number of very good wizards. In truth, I have never been engaged in a battle/campaign quite like this, so it is a learning experience. My constant dilemma is trying to figure which spells do what to who and in what order? I'm currently facing this array at OV:

1LI 0 9 OV General Vizisslak Kazanor (Power-6)
NA NA
NA NA

2LI 17 9 OV Warlord Cora Draco Eklar (Power-6)
Lord Commander Eel Gosar Greeneyes (Power-6)
Grand Marshal Slithermojo Kiri Blackmind (Power-6)

3LI 0 9 OV NA Iceax (Power-5)
NA Zyd Confounder (Power-5)
NA Nemrond (Power-3)

4LI 0 9 OV Major General Ssil Zozzi Maz the Firecast (Power-5)
NA Sakana (Power-5)
NA Yellowskin (Power-5)

My force is not as impressive.

I would ask for you to go after some of those wizards with agents, but the LI has been well defended with agents on counter-duty so far. I have suffered agent loss just try to do recons. Somehow I failed to acquire a scrying device for the first time in many games and have no low level wizards available to use a raven.

We'll see how it goes, but I won't be terribly surprised if after this turn I have zero wizards left and no army.

LI to WA

Come on, don't give up. The Lizards are finally having some fun. Stay in the game. I could take it easy on you this turn but I'll have to see. Just don't give up. That's what happened to me in another game when I won by taking over two dropped positions and I don't want it to happen in this game as well.

Besides, your WA position is certainly not hopeless. You forgot to present what you have at OV this turn which if you do things correctly, could kick my butt:

2WA, 23 brigades, Major General Sirus the Fox, Raveneye (Power-7 Lich), Red Son of Dre (Power-5), Rykala (Power-4)

4WA, 2 brigades, Commander Bol the Scimitar, Havix Moondust (Power-6), Mennemik (Power-4), Zor Mindshifter (Power-4)

As your adversary, I'll give you some advice. Even though you're concentrating on the wizard matchups, troop composition is very important for a battle like this too. Some spells like shield rely on the composite defense rating on how effective the spell is. Also, there are all kinds of special brigade abilities that may affect the battle outcome like fear (or stalwart from zealots) and a bunch of other factors like Night Attack or such.

Disregarding the wizard matchup on the dozens of possible outcomes on casting offensive/defensive/supportive spell combinations between our 6 groups, troop composition has me a bit worried and adds a level of complexity that maybe most people don't consider when heading into a battle.

The 2WA outnumbers mine in number of brigades but are they all junk troops like skeletons or highly valued and powerful wights or mammoths. And the same about my group, just lizards or something else. That's what you should be considering in what to do in the battle. The recon at the end of the kingdom report only shows the number of brigades (but not chameleons or wood elves in forest unless you have true seeing spell active) so we only know of the number of brigades. Not their multitude of special abilities and effects.

I may have to change my strategies too. For example, even though fear may be one of my favorite spells, I have to consider if your group has a bunch of undead troops (immune to fear) which would nullify my wizards casting their spells for the turn. Or casting destroy undead could end up being devastating to your forces before the battle even begins.

There's all kinds of strategic moves that you could do for this upcoming battle so have some fun and experiment if you like. Heck, even the instant summon phantom spell whose troops only last for the single turn could end up turning the battle in your favor.

Good luck but don't stress out and quit. This game is just starting to be fun!!

(NO) I am still under NAP with the LI through turn 20 so my hands are tied. I am curious how the LI has so many mages though, if you start with 5 as an advantaged kingdom, you can get 2 via ESO. That's 7. Found a wandering Power 2? That's 8. Can't recruit adepts if you have more than 4. Makes no sense to me. Am I forgetting something.

now my post has been removed with the explanation on how you can get the wizard count you have?
