Just trying to better understand the program's exactitude and leeway, where trading is concerned.
If it does not match exactly both orders fail.
If you have other orders that come after the trade and rely on the trade for funding they can fail too. Failed trades can really mess up a turn.

QUESTION: So, did Baron Peter Rootcutter make more than one escape attempt in the turn in question?

Yes, you can try as many escapes as you have orders.

It is my personal belief that they chose to be taken so they can spy on your defenses. The mission was over so they went home.
