In fact, it may be better to have no natural enemies at all, as the two-level regional reaction hit is pretty brutal.

Unless I'm not thinking of something, "unchangeable enemy status" is what natural enemy is.

Enemies cannot trade, and any action by a declared enemy effecting his influence effects yours.

Well, so far I'm a big fan of this format. It's interesting to think of when you will stop building and go on the attack. I'm happy with MWF, but will go with whatever is decided. I think most of the dip is done for now.
I agree that nobody should start with a HP - though I was happy I did! Came in useful.

The timing of MWF is working for me also. And by the way, I finally did a turn where I had no errors. Wow, so pleased with myself.
It is an interesting format. One is almost tempted to name every other player an enemy as a defensive move, but maybe don't want to trigger a response too quickly Smile.
Interestingly, the Elf bid almost 15,000 for the second council seat in a game where every player will join the council, but then I heard he always overpays for Council seats. And both of the first two Council members refrained from or forgot to put forward an issue.
Ok, on to Turn 3 and glory.

Well, in fact, I tried to put in a bid, but being a clueless brain-dead idiot, I entered order 400 and not 410.

I assumed I'd be shooting down a BL issue this turn. Turns out DuPont is a clueless brain-dead idiot and entered order 400 and not 410.

For me the question is will there be a 5th group siting this turn. Got me thinking maybe have a big brother alamaze where you get twists throughout the game for a few turns. I know not going to happen but just thought of it.

Two comments: 1) Yes, I apparently overbid on the HC seat. Whatever. TOTALLY WORTH IT! 2) Loving the turnaround at 3/wk. I think this makes this format even more appealing. 3) Didn't completely poop the bed, but didn't get quite the start I was hoping for.

Three of five of the kingdoms were able to take a region on turn 3 - the BL, DW and GI. I finally was able to get an issue proposed after 3 turns of trying - now we'll see if it passes. Interestingly, while I did start with a HP, I took the region without her as on the first turn, I screwed up her name (I looks very much like T with the damn text font I'm using). I was fortunate with the BL groups finding neutral PCs and think I got the Sands by the skin of my teeth.
Now, of course, I must move on the next region. The fact that it's summer down here does give me a nice boost, but I suspect things will get interesting soon.

Dwarves reporting in...

We are just stolidly plodding along doing all the things one should over the first few turns. Nothing amazing to report yet. Did gain region. It is so much easier to gain the region without those flaming red dragon beasties. The longer they sleep, the better it is for everyone else. Also managed to gain a HC seat for the same the BL paid, which is over 10k less than the EL paid and almost 3500 more than the final king will pay. Smile

A dead HP is really painful now due to the influence loss in hiring them. I guess dwarves should be happy they have any magic in their kingdom and simply stop complaining. But if a dwarf wasn't grumbling would he really, truly, actually still be a dwarf?

Don't let The Deliverer fool you. I am guessing the only reason he didn't control his region on turn three is that he is hoping to control two regions on turn four. Then we will all have to listen to those damn pointy-eared faeries singing his praise throughout Alamaze. Here's hoping not! Smile

He also might have found it a little harder to take Lorethane than he was hoping...
